Ok, I saw this so I did the BIN, but now I am scared. Does anyone else think this is too good to be true?

Man I hope so. Now I am worried about "no Paypal" and he is in Chile. Looks like I will have to use Money order. Well, I'll be sure to post what happens.

I wouldnt be worried about the "no paypal" thing. I don't think people in Chile can withdraw payments sent via paypal unless they have a US bank account. so it wouldnt make sense for him to use paypal.

But they can find ways to use Paypal. I had a guy from Chile use what appeared to be a stolen credit card that of course had the charges reversed after I shipped. That was a fun ride getting ripped off. :rolleyes2

The small traces of wear to the box would suggest it wasn't printed recently....

but he could have 'borrowed' the picture from somewhere.

I got some bad vibes about sellers from Chile in the past.

In the action it says " you will be contacted in a few hours of auction's end to make proper arrangments" yet I still have had no contact. I sent him a request for payment total and info. Lets see where this leads to.

    Hmm...
Good luck on getting your deal thru. Just be careful. I heard from other members on this forum that they almost got screwed from a seller from Chile but pulled out at the last minute. Again, I never dealt with anybody in Chile so I really don't know. Best of luck.

Take Time Zones into account, and consider the guy may be at work or school, or even asleep right now.

Well crap, that really, really blows.

I don't know what you can do about getting your money back at this point, but perhaps filing fraud charges now may catch up with the seller in the future. I'd fill these out:

    https://www.usps.com/postalinspectors/fraud/MailFraudComplaint.htm

    http://www.ic3.gov/

Filing a complaint with eBay might not hurt either. You could hope any info you provide them may prevent the seller re-registering and grifting future buyers, but there's really no way of knowing that happens internally with that info.

Always ALWAYS *ALWAYS* use Paypal and pay from your credit card, not your account balance. If a seller says 'no Paypal' they're hiding something.

I've heard that Chileans don't have Paypal or credit cards available to them; perhaps something to do with a lack of the latter. Anyone have insight into this, or has the interweb lied to me?

Oops. Live and learn. Chilean sellers are not to be trusted, apparently.
