I have my own theory on why Skids & Mudflap have deformed faces, they're professional cybertronain boxers. They travel all over the galaxy boxing with each other but don't use thier wealth to repair thier faces, that way they show the experience they have in the ring, instead they use it to upgrade theselves with punching gimmicks like the toys have for thier matches.
This idea sounds possible! Explains the... rather we're-beyond-this gimmick Skids has. Mudflap: DURR. --------------------- So after listening to the podcast, here are some words. - Animated Designs: I've heard in various places (I think Seibertron first said this) that Soundwave's return involves him making a hologram world and causing the Autobots (our usual main cast) to appear human in it. Prowl wasn't listed in the designs because it's supposed to just be his hologram driver, the mustached officer. I'm dying to see this episode... - Soundblaster: Soundblaster, totally called it. Keytar was a nice surprise. Guess this means out of Derrick's top 4 favorites (Swindle, Wasp, Ratbat and Galvatron), Galvatron won't be the guy introduced to season 3. I think the combo of the color scheme and Ratbat makes a great Halloween item, but I doubt there will be more Halloween episodes. - Arcee: Not much to say, need to see more pics 'cause the arms bother me. I may get it regardless, I have no shame in buying a pink sports car. - Devastator: I'm a bit disappointed at the price of this big guy, so I may only get the separate characters. Rampage in particular looks pretty hardcore. - Chevy twins: I gotta say, Vangelus, your story of Skids and Mudflap is your best character background yet. I'm officially counting this as canon, not that the other suggestions were bad. Buzzbeak also captured exactly what I expect from these guys. Also, does anyone have the comparison shots of the twins and the paintings? I gotta see this. - Soundwave: Ooooh, something the toy can't do? I'm psyched with this buildup. It could definitely be interesting. - Gravity bots: DERPASTATOR FTW. Derpderp. - "New character": Megatron being named Galvatron sounds like a very big possibility, though I wonder if all of the toys we've seen so far have been named that? If not, I wonder what the REAL story is about him not being in the movie. You know, other than it being an all-out lie instead of a play on words. That's actually not as fun to think about. :/ Anyway, this was a terrific podcast, guys. I'd been waiting patiently for the Toy Fair stuff to be discussed, and here it is. n_n

I flipped from DC++ (chat/download program) over to VLC, which was playing the podcast, during the chapter with crystal henkei starscream. Then I flipped back, chatted a while, heard the "whY sO seRiOUs?" comment, then flipped back to VLC at the spoiler warning. It still had the starscream pic for a second, then it changed to the spoiler pic, THEN it changed to the photoshopped JokerMagnus pic. I think I have just realized that I've missed a LOT of chapter pics because of VLC.... - While the pic of Blackout has that cool national logo-looking arm tat, the notation above his head says maaaaaaaaybe it won't be on the final animation model and/or (pleeeeeease...) toy :-/
Is Drew okay? he didn't really seem his chirpy self this episode. I'm thinking a lot of that is to do with him having been ill but I thought I'd check. And I'll join the party and say I really, really dig Skids and Mudflap's faces.
