This is by far one of the hardest things I've ever had to do in the eight years I've collected Transformers. I picked up my 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime today (a.k.a. the 2004 U.S. release of Masterpiece Convoy), and to my shock, it seems that he's starting to lose his wondrous luster. He's gotten a few paint scratches on his right thigh, his left leg won't push in for truck mode, and his right knee has gotten loose (no ratchety sound when I move his knee, turns out a piece broke from it). On top of that, I recently found his long lost Megatron gun after six years of losing it and having to get a replacement from one of the fine members here on the boards. It's a shame, too, as I had plans on making a custom trailer for him (and I'll give you a hint, it's a trailer you'd never expect for Optimus to carry :lol ). In short, I'm in need of a replacement of the figure itself. I am willing to sell him for $30 or trade this figure for 20th Anniversary DVD Optimus Prime OR if anyone's willing, please sell me a new pair of working legs for Optimus. Whatever the price is, I'll buy it (as long as the price is reasonable).

So for anyone who's wanted a loose 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime, complete with black Ion Rifle, Energon Axe, two Megatron guns, and instructions, now's your chance. Pictures to come shortly.

EDIT: Okay, so apparently the idea of trading a loose figure for a MISB figure is crazy, so I'm now I'll sell him.

EDIT 2: Okay...yet another edit (I really hope this is the last one, sorry if this is getting annoying). This time, it seems that the best course of action would be to get a new pair of legs for Prime. His upper body is okay, to be honest, but his legs ain't doing so well. If anyone's willing, please sell me a pair of working legs for 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime.

Im just trying to understand what you want, correct me if im wrong your loose prime,
gotten a few paint scratches on his right thigh, his left leg won't push in for truck mode,
and his right knee has gotten loose.
And you want to trade him for a Mint in sealed box one?

It's a long shot, yes. And come to think of it, it does sound a bit far-fetched. Added a price for him now. Mods, if you can change the title to "20th Anniversary Optimus Prime for SALE/TRADE", I'd appreciate it.

Well, it looks like I might be selling Prime for cheaper than I thought. The reason why Optimus's knee is loose is because a piece broke off of it. It's still in there, but I guess this toy's sort of a junker now.

My MP-1's knee broke like that. I ended up swapping the leg with one from a 20th anniversary prime (thank goodness for no "battle damage" lol on the leg)

That's a good idea for this guy.

Instead of getting a few bucks for this broken one, you should keep it and just buy yourself a new one. If the new one needs a new piece in a few years, you can take the parts from the old one.

Allow me to throw in my two cents worth:

If they're light surface scratches, and it's on an unpainted surface, you may be able to buff them out with some very fine grade sandpaer

...and maybe you could talk to Darkov to see if he could cast you a replacement part?

That would be a good idea. But to be fair, the only time I've ever had to disassemble a toy was my Animated Electrostatic Soundwave because his knee joints were swapped. That only required having to unscrew two bolts and swapping the legs. But this is a Masterpiece Prime I'm dealing with. I just don't have the balls to unscrew something like that. :(

Another good idea. How much would it cost to get a new pair of legs?
