I see it on ebay for $69.99 but I see people buy singles seasons for twice that, is there something with box set? why get the single season when you can all the episodes for a fraction of the price

...I had no idea something like that was out. If anyone has info on that, feel free to share. As if it's as good as it seems I'd buy it.

Man, the prices on the set on eBay have jumped like $20 or so for the "tin" set....

A few years ago, I got the wood boxed set....its pretty neat, nice to have all the episodes on hand to watch at my liesure...and like polymorphic said "box art and menus are in Chinese"

I have been thinking of purchasing the newer "tin" set...the folder of "art" that holds the dvd's is attractive in itself.

This is a Chinese set. I assume the menus are in Chinese, and we just recently found out that some people are unable to use them.

Then there's the question of legalities. From what I know, the set is considered a parallel import, which means it's legal in China but not legal to import to other countries. Not sure about that.

Egads, some people just prefer to by domestic releases with menus in their own language rather than foreign imports with menus in a foreign language.

IMHO, seeing as though purchasing season 1 and the first part of season 2 would be more expensive than this box set with all seasons and the movie, even though it is Chinese and illegal it is well worth it. :p

I disagree. I prefer to buy DVDs in a brick-n-mortar, so I can try and goad the clerk into singing the theme song with me.

If Masterforce or Victory is ever released in the US, I probably won't find a clerk who knows the theme. :(

    Ebay:
I bought the US editions when they came out a few years back and I couldn't be happier with them. In fact I may watch an episode tonight.

I'm able to contain myself to the rest of the disc once I pop it in. Unless it's Rebirth. I can tear myself away from that after about 10 minutes.

So then the only negative about this set is that it's non-show parts are in chinese?

And there's no knowledge of an official NA re-release coming out any time soon?

...I'll have to think about it O.<

definitely buy one of the chinese box sets. you will spend 5 times as much trying to find the rhino editions. I got the set that comes in the wooden box and has an anime style pic of prime and rodimus on the cover and a dreamwave pat lee prime on the back.

i think mine was like 15.99 plus like 40 bucks shipping on ebay, took 2 months to get here, but got here with no problem. i also bought the horribly dubbed headmaster/masterforce/victory sets at the same time for about the same price.

I have all the Rhino sets, but I'd love to have one of those Chinese wooden boxes.
