I've got a 20th Anniversary Prime that is starting to show his age. Some of the paint is starting to wear off of the die cast areas from general transformation and play. Any suggestions on what type of paint to use to "touch up" these areas? I only need a dab here and there, nothing major.

You can probably just use any model/hobby paint (Testors, Tamiya, etc) just make sure you get the proper color.Testors' Italian Red might be a good match for Prime's red, but you'd better ask more Radicons

If you ask me, 20th Prime/MP-01 should be completely redesigned so we finally get a decent truck mode.

You need a paint job, not a make over. I'd suggest going to ask the radi's too.

i agree that the mold needs updated. In fact, ROTF Optimus is more of a masterpiece than the actual Masterpiece figure itself, and they most likely weren't trying for that, just film accuracy.

I like *sarcasm* how this thread is some one asking how to fix up a figure, and everyone just seems to be blathering on about their opinions of said figure instead of actually helping the guy.

MP Prime seems like one of those figures that you pose, and leave under glass forever.

As for repairing/repainting your Prime, I suppose it depends on how bad the paint wear is. As others have said, if it's very light chipping, I'd try to find a matching modeling paint to touch-up the bad spots. You'll just have to be careful and avoid reds that are too different from the red that's already there.

Of course, if the damage is bad enough, or you want to experiment a bit, you could use this opportunity to repaint the whole figure.

You could always say it is a custom with battle damage :)  My Takara one is fine but my Hasbro one has had a couple of nicks on the chest since I got it. Model paint should do the trick, and it seems like a pretty common red. Good luck.
