I can't remember if it's been confirmed, but I feel that his feet are die-cast. They have that "painted-metal" feel and they get abnormally cold compared to plastic.

 

Also some part of his waist are die cast

I know the piece that connects the waist to the chest is die cast. The first time I transformed him I had a heart attack when I saw red paint on my desk from it...

It took me almost a half hour to figure out where the paint came from and from the looks of it, there is no way to avoid the paint from it from peeling off.

 

It's a piece that never should have been painted in the first place. By design stuff is rubbing against it all the time and it's always hidden in both modes anyway.

I preordered 2 from TRU, freaked out when I heard we may not get the POs, saw a couple in the local TRU and grabbed a third. I'm thinking about selling off the third, I like it so much in the package I want to keep one MISB

True but it's wildly inconsistent. He is the lighter blue in many S1 episodes. That still in your post is from the '86 movie.

 

One thing's for certain is Hasbro's eyes are spot on.

 

If they hadn't been I would have painted them anyway.

 

I think I am in the minority. I just got the Hasbro version and while it's nice MP-01 is the better of the 2 for me...IMO, it looks more like the cartoon. This is still a stunning fig,...especially in truck mode.

 

Sorry, but I couldn't disagree with you more. Hasbro's Masterpiece Op is the definative Optimus figure.

But I still REALLY want an MP01. To me MP01 is like a real "robot" compared to MP10 that is more designed to mimic what he REALLY looks like in the toon..comic..whatever.

MP01 is still an incredible toy. All those features that he does..DAMN..its still awesome.

And I still need to get one to stand next to MP05
