Now for the TFW drawn-art contest! Vote for your favorite; I didn't get many nominations for this one, but maybe next year we'll have more. First, it's the rapidfire updated Transformers Nexus, which is the two most prominent drawn comics on TFW, and contains more Gurren Lagann references than even Transformers Animated! 1 Transformers Nexus! Next up, the comical stylings of BB Shockwave! With ponies! We all know who MegaMoonMan is voting for! 2 BB Shockwave's Funny Drawings Next up, Autobot-Girl's Pensive. This comic was short-lived and closed (I assume due to the one-comedy-series rule, or request?) but the poll had lots of room, and the comic was well worth including, so here it is! 3 Autobot-Girl's Pensive And last of all, something terrible! It makes no sense! It isn't even in color! LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAME. 4 Autobus Prime's Blurry Robot Theater
Not many to pick from, huh? I was considering not voting, but there was one that did stand out as a bit better than the others...
Hmm... to vote for Pensive or Blurry Robot Theater? Hmm... hmm... EDIT: Well, it was a tough call. As much as I loved Autobot Girl's Pensive, despite that the comic was short-lived, I had to vote for the 2D artwork used in Blurry Robot Theater.
Voted. Tough call, but in the end I voted for Autobus. Both the high quality of the art itself, it's distinctive visual style, and the way he uses it as an actual narrative device in the comic to differentiate the different levels of reality involved in the tale gave him the edge, IMHO. But all of the other entires are damn fine work as well. TFW2005: An incubator for serious talent.
Of course, you're on the Internet! There may actually have been another or two that didn't get nominated, and there's a few more that didn't get updated in 2011.
Thanks everyone! In exchange, I promise to learn to draw. And thanks to those who sent nominations! I hope this encourages some of the TFW fan-artists to try their hand at a comic series; wouldn't that be fun to see? My comic has a rebellious streak, it seems.
