OK, this is probably a really dumb question, but it is confusing the hell out of me. The various announcements from Botcon seem to have a number of lines. I have heard....

    Hunt for the Decepticons
    Generations
    Autobot Alliance
    War for Cybertron

I know that WfC is a sub-line tie in, specifically for the figures drawn from the game.... but, what are the official categories here? For example, what category does Terradive appear in?

    Thanks.

HftD - closest to "main" line, has products in all size classes (Legends - leaders, no Ultras). "Autobot Alliance" is probably part of this since this line has the movie motif about it.

Generations - More "Classics" aimed, WfC figures are part of this since everything not even remotley movie falls in this catagory. Only supposed to have Deluxe class figures at this point in time although the reports of G1-ish legend figures say otherwise.

There are 3 "core" components to the current Transformers brand:

Adjective-less Transformers (Gold Box), it has "Hunt for the Decepticons" as a 2010 sub promotion (think NEST) with Autobot Alliance to follow in early 2011 (yes, Takara is also using the name, but Hasbro wouldn't have banners of it around Botcon without intending to use it). All new characters thus far revealed (like Terradive) or redoes of movie core characters (like Rescue Ratchet or Battle Blades Optimus Prime) are part of this line. Also features the most pricepoints.
Voyagers will have a larger spread in regards to figure styling.

Transformers Generations (Red Card)- Currently deluxe only at mass retail, this entire line is "nostalgia" based. Pretty much any deluxe "classics" figure (like Red Alert or Blurr) is a Generations figure. War for Cybertron figures have been included in this line. In other words, anything that doesn't fit in with movie styled/realistic vehicle mode mainline (excluding G1 remakes, of course)

Powercore Combiners (orange cards and boxes)- A scout and minicon two pack and a set of a scout and 4 legends sized drones which are all interchangable to form varous homemade combiners.
