A lot of cool stuff here, even though some fights had only part of the fight posted...

I'm gonna have to think about this one.

So far at least one of my comics has gotten a nomination per week, thanks for caring. :)

... Y'know, I don't normally meddle in these things, but honestly... three panels? Out of the whole fight? All the other comics got more representation than that.

Here, if you guys want to see the fight Warring At Play was nominated for, it STARTS here:Warring At Play - Infernal Proposal

    And runs until December 31st.

If I'm gonna be in this thing, I want to be fairly represented.

Sorry about that Polenicus, that's how the PM was sent. I'll find an update to place there but I have a quick question: How do you quote an image (or comic) from your website?

EDIT: Full update added. Sorry about that  .

Difficult as hell to just pick one, as there are lots of good nominations here. Ultimately, I decided on voting for Warring At Play, because I'm always just blown away with Pol's fight scenes.

Judging from the vote distribution, three panels was enough

And wow, my training sequence was nominated as a fight scene! Thanks to whomever did that!

I ended up voting for Roll Call, though I'm surprised it was this fight that showed up and not Megs vs the RX unit (or whatever it's designation was, I can't remember and can't check it now).

Well, that fight was in 2009. I think this is the only fight I posted in 2010.

And I don't think RX-78 vs. Fort Max counts. That was very one-sided. :D

It was a tough choice between WAP and OOTDL, but Prime's appearance in OOTDL kinda sealed the deal for me.

First of all, many thanks to whoever nominated OOTDL. :)

I know it's starting sound like a cliche, but this is genuinely a very hard choice, and there are a number of strips and scenes that didn't make it in here that could also run for the award IMHO. I voted but it was a close call.

Good action scenes are one of those things that are incredibly tricky to do well. Whereas a good conversation or even a good story relies more on the writing than the visuals, and can be just two bots standing still with word bubbles, a good action scene is by nature very VERY visually based. It's an area where good toy posing, good camera angles, good choreography and effects really do make the difference. If you're creating an action heavy comic, it really does pay off to put time and effort in to these areas.

Each of these nominations clearly puts these elements together in a way that really worked for the readers, and so it's worth studying them to work out what they did well, not so as to copy them, but so that we can learn from it and enhance our own work. I know I'll be doing that.

In general, I think the standard of action scenes on display in the funnies is climbing ever higher with every passing year, with a greater and greater number of creators giving us some awesome, high-end effects and gripping battle sequences, and it's proof (as if any were needed) that us Transformer geeks can lay claim to some seriously skilled and creative people.
Except Coolhand. Guy's a talentless hack.

Really, all of these have something to be admired, something awesome.

It's fun to see that two of the nominations feature RID Prowl, there may be a theme going on. :D
Coolhand finally gets Optimus out of the base, Polenicus shows us what a Dark Entity tm can do, TCracker shows us what a wrecker's all about and Starfire_MK2 wows us with his dialogue and effects...

    It's tough, ah tells yah.

Gonna just go with Polenicus, he really beat Dark Scorpinok down! Awesome battle damage!

I must say there are a lot of good action scenes in these amazing comics, but I'm gonna have to go with Coolhand. I've never seen such an amazing comic like that before when I usually turn my nose up at something because I find humour hard to understand, and now I've found a comic that can relate to my sense of taste for action, emotion, understandable humour, characters that are wonderful to enjoy, and even effects that match the scenes perfectly.

I think it's obvious who's going to win this one.

EDIT 4:54 PM -- Congrats Coolhand!
