U.S. dominates China and looked great at times. U.S. soccer tied the Netherlands, though they should have won that game.

This team is not arrogant that was the 2004 team. They understand that the rest of the world has caught up in basketball.

Ok never once did I say they deserved it did I No I didn't, I didn't even say it was karma I said "one could say karma" meaning someone else(cough cough Sharon), not myself. It SUCKS period. You sir made an assumption and when you assume anything you make an ASS out of U and ME.

But leaving the Politics out of the boards like they should be I go back on topic. Is anyone else missing out on certain events? I missed basket ball completely I was looking for it at the right time but none of the channels were airing it. And I also missed Gou Jing Jing with diving even thou there was no diving scheduled for last night/ early this morning. They really need to make an a fully Scheduled page showing all event and not just vague descriptions.

In my school they called everyone out of their classes into the theater to see the Opening Ceremony.
It was awesome, and we didn't have classes, even more awesome.

Dude, then you shouldn't have brought it up in the first place. When you say things like "one could say karma" its so "explicitly" implied. Besides Sharon Stone was never mentioned in your original post! ;)  Anyway, I agree let's go back to topic.

Netherlands were indeed lucky to escape with the draw against the USA! Me thinks the soccer goal will be between Argentina, Italy and Brazil!

That was amazing. There's no way the French should have lost like that in the last 10 meters.

I actually stood up from my seat during the very last seconds of that race.
I was about to say, Well silver isnt so bad, then all of a sudden Lezak was inching in closer and closer. Flipping great race. I love the Olympics!

Loved the opening ceremony, and loved watching USA Basketball.

I will pretty much be watching Basketball (trying to catch every game) this year. Would love to see them bring home the gold.

Same here. Basketball will be the main sport Ill be watching.
Greece and Spain should be the only teams that could give the US some problems so hopefully they will peak by the time medal rounds arrive.

Yeah that race was indeed the best event thus far, I really hope Master P (Phelps) gets his history breaking ten gold medals.

And my girl Guo Jingjing took the gold in Sync Diving. Sad this might be her last Olympic Games/ International event :cry . Oh well thank god for youtube.

I will admit that I am more than impressed with this years opening ceremonies and I find myself more interested in the competitions. Basketball looks like it will be shaping up into something cool.

Man is it just the Canadian coverage or does everyone seem to be kissing China's ass. Pretty much every event I see they are going off on how amazing the chinese athletes are.

it just seems like they are going out of there way for it. A completely different country will be competing and they will throw in how they don't match up against the chinese.

Home country advantage. They're the team to beat, hence them constantly being compared to the Chinese.

China's expected to win the medal count so I guess they're using them to set the bar.
