This week college football kicks off with a bit of a dull roar. Not too many good games going on. Just a chace to the big teams to descimate unranked opponets. With this in mind, Ohio state plays Youngstown State! This is Tressels old school where he coached just before OSU!

and whats up with this Big Ten Network? the first 2 OSU games are televised on this network making it where majority of Buckeye fans CANT watch the games. This looks to be a promising season, but im kinda pissed i cant watch the games!

    Pssh. Both wrong.

Damn game is only on PPV though. Way to go scheduling one of the creamiest puffs for the season opener. Then again...that's probably what Michigan thought.

I will admit....Im a huge Michigan fan and am embarassed at todays game. What a joke! It is time for Carr to step down. Should have happened last year. Someone also needs to stick their foot up the a$# of the Michigan defense. Oh well, its only the first game and there is always next week.....:(

    Let the flaming begin......lol

I'm from the south, so I couldn't care less about Michigan, but I feel ya, we've been there and done that before. Being a college football fan it always sucks when high expectations get dashed before conference play even begins. I've had to console a lot of Nebraska, OU, and Texas fans for that over the decades.

For my own school (Texas A&M), I gave up having high expectations somewhere in the middle of RC Slocum's run in the mid 90's. It's just less stressful this way ;)

Personally, I joke about it, but I don't think it's the largest upset ever, even if they were ranked #5....I've gone on record already about what I think of rankings and ratings (especially when no one's played a game yet), and I think A State is getting slighted...they're I-AA sure, but they've been a dominant AA team for awhile, and if you look at some of the most pathetic I-A teams, you wonder just how much of a difference there really is between the two divisions sometimes. A-State is probably one of a handful of I-AA teams that would likely end up with a winning record if they played nothing but I-A teams.

The final score of GA Tech / Notre Dame: Ass-whipping to season's over.

I thought Gailey was a fool to schedule a season opener away against a non-conference team that's traditionally a stronger team. But if it was a gamble, it paid off. We just won one of our three hardest games this season. My week is starting off right.

My dad is a Georgia Tech alumni. As none of the three colleges I attended currently field football teams (although UNCW is passable in Div 1 basketball, and my current school USI kicks ass in Div II basketball), I always rooted for Tech by default. Was very excited to see the spanking they handed Notre Dame. Hoping for a good season this year.

I was down on OSU campus watching the game at riverwatch. I cannot tell you how crazy it was when Michigan was losing. Got to watch the last 9 minutes of the game, two blocked FGs!!!!

I did call the 50 yard pass to manningham at the end of the game. I said to my friend "$100 its a 50 yard pass to manningham", lucky for him he didn't take that bet.

And to top it off, Notre Dame getting their ass kicked. Great weekend other than the sunburn.

My father also, ME in...'72, I think. Not sure. Your's?

I went there for a year and a half, before I sat in my room thinking about how I didn't want to be an engineer instead of going to two of my finals. Oops!

They're still my team, though. Got tickets to the Army and UGA games this season. Going to the first one with my father--he did thirty years in the Army, and I mighta served also, but we're hoping the Westpointers get routed.

Anybody wanna make any predictions for the championship game?
