I looked online for information on the Takara Transformers PS2 game and couldn't really find much in the ways of youtube videos on it.

I saw a review that didn't involve any gameplay.
So testing out some new stuff I picked up for my computer and gearing up to make an attempt at doing some toy reviews, I decided to capture the intro to my copy of The Takara Transformers game and toss it on you tube.

The game itself may be a bit clunky (though a lot of fun when you figure it out) but the intro IMO is pretty awesome (for it's age!).

    Enjoy!

I got like halfway through the autobot side before I stopped playing.. I just started playing it again today, so hopefully I can beat it this time.
Of course to unlock everyone you need to beat it twice for both sides.. (4 times total then!)

As far as I know this was out for Japanese PS2's only. Be cool if someone could convert it to play on NTSC PS2.

but its already a NTSC PS2 game...

    only the europeans use PAL

Either way, the non modding way to play the game is using an Action Replay dvd :)

Yeah, heard this game sucked pretty bad. A shame really, cause I was super excited about it...now I don't have to waste my time.

Whoops yeah you're right I think he was more asking how to play an import ps2 game on a US PS2 and bypass the region codes. I personally use the swap magic. I didn't know action replay finally got that game swap ability.. sweet!

Actually, when you first see it you'll think, Man this game is dumb.
But the more you play it the more fun it becomes. I finally beat the autobot side (it actually takes BEATING the game to figure out how to get through the game with less difficulty).
The game itself can be frustrating from time to time, but overall I think it's a lot of fun now. Not necessarily the best Transformers game ever (I think the armada one was fun due to the huge levels and such), but actually a lot better than it gets credit for. It just takes time to figure out how not to get gang raped all the time. :)

I beat each side at least 4 times! Each time you beat it, you get MORE characters!

Now i see reasons why does TF: Tatakai did not get an official US release

It's still pretty much japonized. the theme video still pretty much japonized. everyone uses Japanese names. (while in game. the voice acting is "almost" american, save for the use of voice command "TRANSFORM!")

I take great offense to anyone saying this game is fun.

    I've played it.

    it's not.

it's not fun, and the game itself is stupid in it's design (there's clones of every fucking robot).

it's a bad beat em' up with invisible walls and waves of mentally challenged AI enemies ("we have guns on our arms, but we'd rather kick you over and over forever"), that you kill with the same repetitive, boring attacks.

it's not fun, it's a bad game, and the only thing good about it is it's horribly, evil, deceptive intro.

    Well..
    I guess I offend you..
After figuring out how to play the game to the point that they don't come over and gang beat on you, I found the game enjoyable.

Is it a GREAT MUST HAVE GAME?
    no..
But it's not as bad as most people make it out to be once you start understanding how to not get gang raped anymore.
It's a difficult game, but that to me makes it fun.

Sounds like Transformers: The Game (Michael Bay's movie adaptations). which forces the player to fight in H2H combat. shooting is almost useless in that game

I start to fear that TF:WfC will be another "Beat 'em up" game

Oh it totally forces you to fight in hand 2 hand (you don't have enough energy not to).

Personally though compared to Transformers: The Game I find the Tatakai game to be a lot more fun..

Again, not some ground breaking game or anything like that, but it can be both fun and challenging, so at least this individual here finds it fun.

Not more than like $50 fun though. :)
I certainly wouldn't pass on call of duty MW2 and such for this game. ;)
