After being treated with animeformers for 6 years, I can say that I for one will still hate it in 20 years.

I will always view it as a missed opportunity for something truly special.

It will be a cult favorite among those of us here now who are still alive and fans in 20 years.

Meanwhile, it will be completely shit upon by the know-nothing, idiot, new, young fans of the future, just like G1 gets shit upon now. Get ready. If you think the fans of 2032 are going to give TFA the respect it is due, you are seriously deluding yourself.

TFA is already somewhat faded to me, but it's what brought me into the fandom. So, it will always hold its place.

I would hope it would still be remembered.

It has a lot of firsts:

    • First series in which the central character to the overall story isn't a Prime (it's Ratchet).
    • First series in which the Autobots aren't the goody two shoes. They deny their own people civil rights, remove rights when they complain, create weapons of mass destruction, and then later on, institute a martial law/McCarthiest regime to keep the population under control.
    • First series in which the Decepticons goal isn't galactic conquest. It's to live with rights on their own homeworld.
    • First series in which an Optimus Prime isn't the supreme commander at any point in the series. (Prime, not Primal)
    • First series to show us a veteran of the war who has PTSD; that the war has real consequences.
    • First series to show us jackass Autobot commanders. :lol
    • First series that didn't have a stand alone episode. Every episode either contributed to that seasons finale or to a later seasons episode.

It also introduced Bulkhead, Slipstream, Lockdown, and Lugnut who have been spotted in other series that directly owe their inclusion to Animated.

Then you have the awesomeness of the toys. We got our taste of virtual mass shifters with Lockdown, Rodimus, Blurr, Shockwave, and others. Some real clever transformations, and so many toys that oozed character.

Animated broke a lot of ground without even talking about the Animation Style or the chins.

G1 had even more firsts. And yet it is still disparaged and ridiculed by many of the younger fans today. So shall it be with TFA 20 years from now.

TFPrime and TFAnimated will be remembered fondly as a memory to the kids that watched it, fapped to furiously by the manchildren who worship it, and forgotten by the populace as a whole.

It will have a strong fanbase.

Then,as long as I prefer G1 and movies character design much more,I also like the TFA one, robots are original and remind alien creatures.

This doesn't really make sense, but I always saw it as the "Business guy with a bad suit, but a good idea." Point is, it tried to look kiddie, on purpose, but also had the intent of good writing, which luckily for it is why it has fans.

I honestly believe, if they used more traditional TF designs, this show would be in much much higher regard. The kiddie designs really turned off a lot of people, me included, until I actually watched a couple of episodes. It's now one of my favorite TF series, right after G1 and Beast Wars.

Yeah, some of the designs still looked weird to me.

I don't know how the fandom will remember it, but I'll remember it fondly.

I'm not really sure if this is true in the long term. The kiddie design fits the tone and helps the viewer make allowances for the material.

For example, Charles Schultz was able to sometimes convey a true sense of depth and melancholy through his Peanuts work in a way he simply wouldn't have been able to if he'd been using a more "realistic" style.

Sometimes, a more cartoony style actually helps convey character and forge an emotional connection with the viewer. And if you watch TFA while thinking about this, I think you will agree that if the show had used a more serious art style, you might be able to keep all the same plots, but the entire series would have to be re-scripted.

Animated didn't have kiddie designs. It had expressive designs, meant to evoke character and work in animation. If they're kiddie than the G1 cartoon models are for infants.

Animated Megatron looks more threatening than G1 Megatron. Ditto Shockwave and numerous others.
