There is a double standard. Why is that? for a 14 year-old guy, sex + an Xbox is seen as a pretty good deal. But the exact same deal for a 14 year-old girl, we'd assume she was duped into it. It couldn't have been consensual. And yet girls mature earlier than guys. Do girls not want to have sex? Can they only be tricked, conned, or drugged into it? Is it because society values virginity in girls, about as much as it devalues the same in guys? Is it because a girl could get pregnant? Be seen as a slut? Does the extent of psychological damage done depend on the gender of the victim? The attractiveness of the perpetrator?
Sadly i think it's true, It's like girls have to be innocent virgins, I mean at a wedding the bride's father must give the bride away to the groom. I think it's stuff like that makes me think it's society sexist. BTW I'm a guy agreeing with your opinion.
On the one hand, she has a psychosexual disorder and is a potential threat to younger boys than just 14-15 year olds who might actually be somehow damaged by such an incident. On the other hand, I think it should definitely be accounted for that around the age of 12 or 13, a boy (unlike a girl in the same situation) isn't going to lose sleep over Stacey's Mom polishing his knob. I think that counts and should call for some form of leniency from the court in this and all such situations. This never seemed to happen when I was a kid but these days we get a couple of high profile woman-on-boy rape cases a year. Makes you wonder why and what the solution is.

Societal/peer pressure play a significant role in what's considered acceptable when it comes to sexual behavior. The current double standard in Western society takes a "boys will be boys" attitude towards older women seducing young boys but shames both parties if an older man should seduce a young girl. The problem is that whether or not the girl is a willing partner is irrelevant in the end. Even if she is, parents, teachers, social workers, and the authorities will endlessly reinforce the idea that she was a victim taken advantage of by a lecherous, perverted, evil older man and could not possibly have engaged in sexual activity of her own volition until she comes to believe it. The worst thing is that the media, which is supposed to be neutral in the sense that it should just report the news rather than tell people what to think, actually reinforces this world view. I remember when Mary Kay Letourneau was interviewed by Dateline NBC. While I was hardly on her side, I was pretty disgusted at how the interviewer's used voiceovers to make her look like she was completely off her rocker or high as a kite.
the closest i ever got to anything like this was in a college class. Used to show up an hour early to the 8a.m. class and she was already there. she smoked a couple cigarettes and chilled with me. some days we didn't talk, some days we talked about the materials in a casual way. there was some attraction, but i was too awkward to bother (gee i was early 20s, she was late 30s) so it wasn't a problem if something happened outside of class. honestly, i can't blame the students for anything except extreme stupidity for destroying a good racket. what horny teen is going to turn down both sex and sex with a woman? especially when the best most of thier classmates will get (if lucky) are those goofy-stupid, inexperienced brats sitting next to them each day? that logic is why i never liked many girls in high school and won't bother with younger girls period these days. they ain't worth it and don't know what to do anyway. the teacher here, well, yeah, she's a predator. she needs to be put in the Butch Academy for Wayward Women for a spell and re-evaluate her needs.

She deserves prison. Period. Preying on a thirteen year old boy is the SAME THING as preying on a thirteen year old girl. They are still both, regardless of gender, CHILDREN and absolutely not prepared for sexual activity. And there is no such thing as informed consent at that age. A 42 year old man preying on a 13 year old girl deserves years of prison time, but a 42 year old woman preying on a 13 year old boy (and ANOTHER child under the age of 15) is somehow "cool"? Screw that. I hope she gets a very long prison sentence for her sexual abuse of young children. Then again, I'm a parent. If someone her age preyed on my son when he is only thirteen, she better hope I don't come after her ass with an AR-15 and a Bowie knife.
