I have here two different Laserbeaks. One of them has the Takara 1983 stamp (the one on the right), the other has no stamp and says 'cassette' on the underside (the one on the left). Can someone tell me if teh 'cassette' Laserbeak is worth more than the other.
CassetteMan a fake? I also read that this CassetteMan is a fake cause it's a darker blue and it says 'SHIANTAI' in the battery compartment.
They look like Microman versions to my eyes. Whether they were genuine Micromen or just Microx versions, I can't say.
Laserbeak's probably a fake. There was a series of knockoffs in the 1980s that used the original Microman box art and which had "CASSETTE" written on the back. If it were a genuine vintage Japanese toy, it would say "TAKARA". I'm no expert, though, so look around.
You are correct. If they say Cassette they are fakes. Anything made by Takara will be stamped Takara, sometimes you have to look pretty hard to find them. That Laserbeak you have went with the same knockoff company that made Cassetteman. It also came in Blue / grey. There is also a frenzy that is red / white. It is also made by the same knockoff company. I hope this helps
Sorry to burst your bubble, Tela_Tran2. I just happened to know this becaise I own one of these knockoffs and because I recently helpe a friend purchased a genuine pre-Transformers Laserbeak a couple of weeks ago.
