Oh Noes! Making fun of! We used to settle that shit on the schoolyard in the 80's. What's wrong with this generation?

Sometimes bullies are right. She needs a Transformers water bottle.

One with an orange cap. For safety.

Nah, several bullies need vasectomies or possibly castrations.

Bullies multiply quickly, people. Let's get 'em where it hurts. :D

I agree it's just teasing. Some parents are trying to mold a kindler and gentle world for their kids. Where everyone is special and should get an award for everything.

The wife gets sent a lot of links to mommy blogs from mommy friends and she rolls her eyes at nearly all of them. As a director of a daycare, she tells me stories daily about how every class has a few kids that have not been given the tools to interact with the other kids.

This "you are a special snowflake and you don't need to conform to a society" nonsense doesn't serve children in the long run. Look at this little girl, she tried to draw her own line as far as how she wanted to personally express herself. That's a useful life skill that mommy should be cultivating, not lamenting.

Friends bring you more joy than a stupid cup.

"Bullying" is a hot catch-phrase. It's a way to bring up lawsuits. It's a way to get educational staff and childcare fired, it's a way to get a kid expelled. This parent wrote a heart-tugging blog or whatever, but it's a big fat "so what?" I, and most of my generation, went through way worse than that. My daughter has had some rough days at daycare that make this really just a joke. In fact, this shit should be expected. Imagine if she had a son who showed up to school with a My Little Pony lunchbox? No shit, kids are going to tease.

Don't get me wrong, it breaks my heart as a parent to see my kid go through teasing. But there's only so much coddling you can do there, without it being harmful. In my view, we need to let the child (that's just raw material) get some fire to form it into something strong. Constantly dousing that fire when it's not too hot is how you get kids in their teens who want to cut themselves over not being able to go to a concert or kill themselves (or shoot up a whole school) a REAL bullying.

As parents, We need to be there to protect and shield them from the harsh reality. But we need to let our children know some measure of reality so they are prepared and this generation is doing a poor job of that. Sheltering our kids is smothering their personal growth.

I was constantly harassed about my toy collecting habits throughout life. I wouldn't call it bullying though.

The idea of "Anti-Bullying Week" is pretty fucking retarded anyway. Shouldn't every day be Anti-Bully Day at school as far as the teacher is concerned? What awareness needs to be raised here? Everyone knows bullying and teasing is a constant since the beginning of schools. It's their job to keep and eye on the kids to make sure things don't get out of control. They can't be everywhere at once, obviously, but raising awareness isn't going to change that either.

If a teacher isn't aware that bullying is going on, she needs to be fired.

Either way, this isn't even bullying. Kid deserves a hug from mommy, sure, but an article? Come on.

This is getting ridiculous. When did parents start becoming such pansies with their children?

I remember when i was a kid playing soccer or whatever there would be an MVP award each year that the best player received. Now, everyone gets an award because "we don't want to hurt our kids feelings". Hell, my nephews team got broken up in soccer because they kept beating everyone. This is just getting retarded.

Being teased and being bullied is 2 drastically different things. This was teasing.
