£4 for 3 songs. Fucking hell, I'm glad I never bought into the whole "I'm a musician on my console" craze.

 

So, I take it you'll be buying them when you get home.

 

No way. I have them on PS2 already, albeit somewhat broken compared to II, but I refuse to pay for that content at such a ridiculous premium when I am forced to take 2 songs that are shit along with one that I like.

There's a very, very good reason people like the iTunes music store.

I'm glad I didn't run out to buy GH2 for the 360.

I already have the first two for the PS2. I think I'll stick with them. This all seems so overpriced. Too bad they didn't run a package deal like they did with DDR and offer a discount if you bought all the songs.

Those prices are highway robbery. As someone at Kotaku pointed out, if you were to buy all of the songs from GH1 at this price structure, it would cost you $100. That's 2 1/2 times more than a sealed boxed copy of a two year old PS2 game. What the hell!

 

$97.76 for GH1? No f'ing way.

I find it hilarious that Red Octane's forums crashed a few minutes ago from all the traffic. Presumably complaints.

 

Deservedly so. Even on Majornelson.com there were very few defenders of the pricepoint. He said he would "pass this information on".

I present to you the following IDIOT moments from 360 GHII;

1. High percentage of broken guitars straight out of the factory.

2. Unable to purchase a second guitar peripheral at launch (in Europe)

3. Incredibly overpriced DLC.

4. No AC/DC

I am very much regretting my decision to support Harmonix on this, and fear for what precedent it's setting for Rock Band.

 

I was going to buy this, but the way overpriced downloads for it in combination with the defective guitars have changed my mind.

 

I'll be totally honest here. The main selling point for me in picking this up was the idea of DLC. Yeah HD graphics, digital sound, leaderboards, etc. are all great. But DLC was what I was after. I'm pretty disappointed at the moment.

In retrospect, I think holding off on the purchase of the GHII until DLC was available would have been the way to go. I've learned my lesson.

As a side note, both my guitars are the defective model and they are both 100% working fine.

As an Addenum, I would be prepared to pay these prices were the songs at least new, but this is old, old content we are talking about. Stuff most have probably already played a hundred times over.
