Taking the movies only and not any other sources (cartoons, comics, other movies), which was the better Galvatron?

Who had the more screen time?

Who had the most charisma and cooler lines?

    Who had the better origin?

Who had the most impact on their movie's storyline?

    Who was the more competent?

Who was the more badass Galvatron?

    "Megatron...is that you?"

    "Here's a hint"

*Transforms into a cybertronian howitzer and 1-shot kills Starscream*

That 5 second exchange is more badass than the entire cumulative lines of 2014 Galvatron.

Who had the more screen time? - 1986 Galvatron.

Who had the most charisma and cooler lines? AOE Galvatron.

Who had the better origin? AOE Galvatron. I like how he remade himself. He didn't need Satan's help.

Who had the most impact on their movie's storyline? 1986 Galvatron

Who was the more competent? AOE Galvatron, for knowing when to cut and run. And he would have gotten away with it, if it weren't for those meddling kids.

Who was the more badass Galvatron? AOE Galvatron. Because catching a sword and then stabbing yourself with it anyways, and then eating up it up like a God damn Satanic woodchipper is the definition of badass.

    Who had more screen time?
Well, 1986 Galvatron obviously. But as I keep saying, AOE's main antagonist was KSI and Lockdown, not Galvatron.
Galvatron was Introduced to the general moviegoers in AOE...

Who had more charisma and cooler lines?
Age of Extinction Galvatron by far :p

    I find,

Optimus - "YOU HAVE NO SOUL"

Galvatron - "That is why I have NO FEAR"

    better than

Starscream - "Megatron, is that you?"

    Galvatron - "Here's a hint"

    Who had the better origin?
I honestly prefer AOE, It was Megatron 'playing' KSI all along!!!! so effectively Megatron rebuilt himself.

Who had the most impact on the movie's storyline
AOE Galvatron. He was the reason the Autobots had to stop the Vehicons from obtaining the 'seed'!
1986 Galvatron was minor. He only hung the Matrix around his neck and the 'worthy' Hot rod had to put his fingers around it, then Unicron's fate was sealed.

    Who was more competent?
AOE. He got the Vehicons to the dirty work whilst he stood there. He backed out of Hong Kong when the Dinobots arrived, that's a resemblance to G1!

    Who's more badass?
AOE Galvatron! I LOVE the Freightliner Argosy, his robot mode, the way it's designed is scary looking. That hole his chest every fucker was complaining about is a grinder, Optimus' sword went bye bye! If you've got a wood chipper in your chest you're automatically badass.

Honestly, there needn't be a thread for this purpose. AOE Galvatron has not had his time to shine fully. ROLL ON TF5

AOE did nothing of value in the movie.

    so 86 wins by default.

In all honesty I prefer AOE Galvatron in all categories than the G1 version.

ALL goes to 1986 Galvatron. Except for screentime, maybe. Movie Galvatron makes up maybe 1% of the screentime, but in a movie that's several weeks long, that adds up. :lol

TFTM has the Galvatron there's ever been... Besides Galvatron II, of course. ;)

Dude, I like you. I want you to remember that throughout the following thrashing of a post. I'm doing it for your own good.

    The most charisma? Really?

1986 Galvatron has more charisma in his pinky than AoE has in his entire body. AoE might be more... Exaggerated and cartoonish, but '86 has a reserved danger to him. He's a force to be reckoned with, who can wholly obliterate his enemies. I believe it when everyone shits their pants after he asks for other challengers.

AoE Galvatron on the other hand has no menace. He's like G1 cartoon Mega/Galvatron was anywhere other than the movie. A totally ineffectual cartoon villain. It's ridiculous. Oh, he turns into cubes. I'm so impressed. It really doesn't help that his design is terrible and his head looks like the Transformers Prime version of that Megatron shark face thing that was in promotional material and no one could stand.

And cooler lines? Come on bro.

    "Who dares disrupt my coronation?!"
"'Coronation', Starscream? This is bad comedy."
    "Megatron? Is that you?"
    "Here's a hint!"

"First Prime, then Ultra Magnus, now you... It's a pity you Autobots die so easily, or I might have a sense of satisfaction."

"I'll rip open Ultra Magnus, and every other Autobot, until the Matrix has been destroyed!"

"Unicron, my master... With this, I shall make you my slave!"

    As opposed to the utterly cliché crap they gave Frank Welker to read in AoE;

    "You have no soul!"
"That is why I have no fear!" (My eyes rolled so hard they got stuck in the back of my head until around when Lockdown showed up.)

"I am GALVATRON!" (Good for you.)

"We will meet again Prime... For I am reborn!" (I'll get you next time, Gadget!)

I get that you like the movies, but credit where credit is due, man.

AoE Galvatron has a terrible origin. Mainly because of the movie it's in. They go out of their way to establish that everything about a Transformer's mind (or soul, if you prefer) is contained within the Spark, but then Megatron transfers his conciousness... From his head?

And to learn about Transformers physiology, KSI taps into the heads of two extremely dangerous warriors? And instead of melting them down for the Transformium they desperately need, they decide to melt down the head of a medical professional instead of tapping it for (surely more valuable and extensive) data?

And after five iterations of Galvatron turning out looking like Megatron, no one thinks that the head might be more than it's letting on?

1986 Galvatron's origin works both as a send off for Megatron, and the introduction of a "new" villain. It shows that Megatron won't accept things going any way other than his, so even in death, he contrives a way to extend his reign through an unnatural second life. And Galvatron is a cosmic entity forged by a god from the remains of the most powerful Decepticon who ever lived to act as his personal enforcer.

Once again, totally ineffectual. With 50 super robots he can't wrest the Seed from three humans and a fat Autobot? '86 Galvatron killed Starscream and only failed in opening the Matrix and executing the orders of someone he was clearly plotting against and didn't want to work for.

    Galvatron Annihilates Starscream

    That is all. ;)

    Of course you'll pick G1 Galvatron... You're a "bayhater". I honestly didn't like him, his voice....eww!

Anyway, Movie Galvatron looks more scarier than G1 Galvatron (seriously, a purple baddy with a horrible orange cannon).

Also, it's not fair to decide yet....we've just got introduced to Galvatron in AOE! We don't know what he'll do in TF5, he could have kickass lines and scenes.

Man. Won't we have egg on OUR face if he gets a shuriken through the head thrown at him by Bumblebee after he offers the Autobots a truce? :lol

If that happens then I'll take everything I said back and agree with Galvatron II.

It should be common knowledge that a thread like this will not spark a thorough conversation, but rather just fan the war between G1 vs. Bayformers.

I am a movieverse fan, but I've seen G1 Galvatron enough to decide that he's the superior one over the movieverse. Granted, I will give the movieverse Galvatron a grace period to prove his badassery in TF5 before making final judgment.

1986 He was more of a main character

Both: AOE: That is why I have no Fear
1986: I'll rip up Ultra Magnus and every other Autobot until I find the Matrix

2014: He basically said screw this I'm going to take over this body

I haven't seen the film but I think AOE Galvatron has more an impact.

Again I haven't seen the film so I don't know.

Again I think their equal in Badassery.
