wow, i didnt even know the version had figures. i thought i knew everything about voltrons of all generations. as for the stealth voltron, i thought he was cool looking. the dino voltron i thought was so ugly. thats why no one bought it when it came out.
I'm not entirely sure what you meant there. Just to clarify, it was the sword that broke. As for not fixing it, it was just one of those things. I kept meaning to get some super glue and fix it, but just never got around to it.
I bought the Trendmaster version back when it came out sometime in 1998 at Toys R Us. As others have said the paint apps are the main difference between the poppy/bandai version and TM. I have also noticed that the paint chips off real easy especially the chrome. Not a bad version of Voltron to own at all. I really like mine. I also own a Masterpiece Voltron(metal), I have some issues with that version.
they were within $5 of $35, I can't remember, but mine still has it's price tag on it. except it's in storage.
I snagged one of these a few years ago for $10 from a local antique store. The head was slightly broken, but I was able to fix it up. I'm sure I got a steal, but I just gotta be careful I don't break it again.
The Die-cast Trendmasters version is on the left. I was ecstatic when I saw the shelf of them at TRU, back when it was released. The colors are blander, and use non-metallic paint, but it does come with a mess-load of additional accessories.
wow thanks for the pic. they both look very nice. just like the way i remember the voltron in the 1980s.
Didn't read through all of the thread so it may have been covered but the Trendmasters one the paint is a different shade, the ears on the Voltron head do not fold out all the way (I replaced the head on mine with the one from the later plastic release) and the face for Voltron is black instead of blue. The Plastic on the joint area on Red and Green Lion as well as their tails is different, and the plastic overall is of a lesser quality, the launchers while deactivated in the Matchbox versions are missing all of their guts and are completely missing from Yellow Lions Ears.
