That's a cool idea, but they should have made it turn into a tool box that ran the entire width of the bed.

A gun worthy of Prime at last, better than at little pea-shooter he has at present. :D

It's nice, but not nice enough to justify spending an extra $30 on a $30 figure I'm not really all that fond of anyway.

The Matrix and engine block is gonna go to OP who is also sporting Kissplay Convoy's surfsword.

The gas can gun is going to Nemesis Prime.

Funny story -- I actually drew up detailed prototype images for a Truck Toolbox that turns into Roller. Just never got around to building it because I moved and all my stuff is still packed away. Maybe someday I'll actually work on it. ;)

^^^ This is the truth. I applaud their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, but at a certain point you shake the stars out of your eyes and realize you're paying close to 40$ (after shipping) for a GUN -- an accessory for a figure that can be had for as cheap as 20$ himself.

I don't really see the correlation between spending money on something that is equal to or more than the figure itself.

Keep in mind, this is not a mass produced item. If it were, I'm sure it would've been much cheaper. So to say that it makes no sense to buy this when the figure costs less isn't really an argument.

I don't really see the need for that, it looks like it would match up with Nemesis pretty well, unless ou have a specific color scheme in mind. If I had any of the versions of Alt. prime I'd probably spring foir this.

Wait till you try transforming the gas tank to gun mode. I never new a transformer weapon could be complicated. :banghead:

It's the principle of paying more for an accessory than the figure itself.
Like buying a 2000$ stereo and 1500$ rims for a 750$ beater Civic.

As I said, I appreciate the sentiment of everything TFC is doing for the fandom, and it's a really cool idea, it's just too expensive for me to justify purchasing. I bought a Screamer Coronation set, (even though the quality on mine was garbage,) I've pre-ordered the Magnus Armor .and I'll get a Battle Rollar soon enough, because they're really ingenious. But when you get around the brilliant concept and actualization, this...is just a gas can that just turns into a gun. I can't be too excited about it, nor rationalize buying it for that price, based solely on that merit.

Have you seen the Alt/BT "Arming sets" all over Ebay? Assortments of swords and guns ALSO designed for Alt/BT figures (In most cases copied from the BT-07 shoulder gun.) They don't transform, but they ARE chromed and they actually fire missiles. The Cost? 20$ shipped for a set, and they aren't any more "mass-produced" than these things.

I don't know how much of the TFC figure cost is overhead from manufacture cost and how much of it is profit they feel they deserve for their time and engineering, but in my opinion it seems a bit excessive. If other people are okay with the price, good for them. Either way, it's gonna sell out regardless. ;)

I can see your argument and agree with it to some degree but comparing this to the Arming Sets I have to beg to differ. These seem to be a lot more complicated than the Arming Sets were and probably much more harder to engineer hence the heftier price tag.

For me the bottom line is this, as well as the trailer for Magnus, make the original figure that much cooler. And while the price is hefty, I gladly pay it since I couldn't have possible made one on my own. And anything that's excessive on the price tag I would just call it a donation for FansProject to continue making cool stuff for us.

    Ebay:
I'm looking at it the same way I look at the TFCC/Botcon stuff...

Expensive, limited edition (To a degree), but once you have it, it's not something you'd part ways with because you know all of these facts.

So if you're a completest, it's worth it. If you like the novelty of it, it's worth it. If you're financially secure, get it for kicks and giggles.

    I preordered on on BBTS.

It's cool, but not $30 cool. Maybe $16.59 cool.

Very creative indeed, but overpriced since the battle roller is going cost around the same.
