Looks a lot better than I expected. Might give it a shot.

Maybe it's just the first level, but the gameplay looks a bit too straightforward. Drive, duck, shoot, drive, duck, shoot, drive, duck, shoot. Nothing really struck me as a flash of gameplay ingenuity. Nothing made me go "Wow, that's clever!" I hope the rest of the game offers something more inspired.

Well, you wouldn't expect a rail shooter to be too subtle, but it's definitely subtler than it first appears. The weapons do serve different purposes (for example the gatling is great against moving crowds but useless if you need a one shot kill) and there are somewhat more elaborate situations as the game progresses, such as bits where you must take down a sentry or turret without being noticed, cover another bot or advance under a time limit. There are at least small branches within some levels' story, too. Also there's some optional tuff to shoot, that you can miss if you don't pay attention. Not sure yet if that's just for score or may unlock stuff.

I'll definitely give this a shot when I'm done with the PS3 one. It doesn't look horrible. And Sideswipe as a campaign playable is pretty awesome.

Gotta say, it looks markedly better than the ROTF Wii game. Might actually pick this one up. I hope they have this version on the PS2 - if it comes out on the PS2.

Sideswipe actually referenced Primus, Seekers, and their mouths move in cutscenes? You can transform in normal missions too! Already looking very good.

Wait, was this guy controlling Sideswipe or was he walking himself around like a Gun Shooter?

It's like a gun shooter. Specifically, kinda like Time Crisis for the robot mode bits. Robot walks around by itself while you shoot, or he takes cover and you control him getting out of cover and attacking until some objective (usually kill everyone on screen but not always) allows him to wander further. Car mode's more like an arcade racer/shoot'em'up mix.

There's videos for the next two missions too:

Nevermind, not getting it. I thought the guy was walking Sideswipe around with the nun-chuck.

Okay, after those two videos, I'm HAPPY I'll be getting this version.

Also, did anyone else hear "Bring down the f*cker" at the end of the first vid?

Gah, seriously? You don't even control where he goes?

This game just went from awful to utter garbage.

Well, that's the principle of a rail shooter. Y'know, Time Crisis, House of the Dead, Panzer Dragoon, all that. None of those are garbage, and, it turns out, neither is Cybertron Adventures.

Yeah I went from being moderately interested, to not interested at all. Nothin' wrong with Rail Shooters, but as a Transformer/video game fan, I want to control the Transforming action of my character, not just point to where he shoots.

Nope, it's lazy garbage when compared to what the other systems are doing with it. Utter shovelware crap.

Fine by me though, it just means I never need to bother with it.

    Indeed.

OK....wow...now that in itself is bad. I would've preferred something like this to have been released on an IPhone than a console.

Ok, I have to now agree with the naysayers. I was thinking the walking around parts were similar to Gears of War, but if you aren't controlling the bot then it looses all interest to me. Sorry, I understand a visual drop in quality, or even shifting the game style a little, but this is now wayyyyyy to watered down into "didn't even try" territory.

It looks really elementary. It won't come near to the type of intense action we'll see in the other 3rd gen consoles. I'll probably get it cheap, as all Transformers Wii games eventually end up as bargain buys. I wasn't expecting much, but I'm still a little disappointed.

Went searching on youtube, and found some gameplay videos, but nothing that we haven't seen before. However, he had this to say:
