I'm really happy to be proven wrong here. Once Diamond got the license they wasted little time in getting these Palisades statues out.

In this case I'll gladly eat my words.

I love this statue, but can't justify $200 for something that doesn't transform right now.

I always thought the unofficial pairing of the US gestalts went:
    Devastator/Superion
    Menasor/Defensor
    Computron/Predaking

with Bruticus unpaired and Abominus and Piranacon sorta off to one side. Am I remembering wrong?

Just got my "preordered products available" note about Devs from BBTS. Glad to see this great line get the finish it deserved.

I've always paired them according to release. Devastator came out by itself in 1985. Superion and Menasor followed in early 1986. Bruticus and Defensor later in 1986 as well. Predaking came out near Christmas 1986 with no comparably-sized Autobot team. Abominus and Computron were released in 1987, and Piranacon by himself in 1988. And don't forget Monstructor, from 1989.

I don't collect statues, but I like the look of this.

Nice way to go out. Pity $200 is just TOO pricy, really for anyone. this is my favorite TF, I have the money, and I just don't have the desire to get it.

That makes sense also...I'm thinking this is one of those debatable fan points with no real canon, so release year is as solid as anything.

Wellllll... I think it's pretty well stated in canon. There's not much justification for identifying 'pairings' of opposing characters beyond what's in the comics and show, plus the release dates for the toys.

Although Devs and Omega were about 10 issues apart in the comics, the show had them 'paired' as adversaries, for sure. In both the show and comics, Superion/Menasor and Bruticus/Defensor appeared simultaneously. Also the case for Abominus/Computron (on the show anyway, don't know about the later comics).

Gotta agree 100% with fosterlager on this one.

I purchased the statue today and will have it on display at the event on Saturday. According to the box, they only made 421 of these statues.

IMO, It is a pretty impressive piece when you see it in person.

I'd buy it if I had extra cash. Looks pretty impressive even though it doesn't transform.

Give it 6-12 months and it will probably drop a lot on ebay.

Only 421? Yikes that's a low number. My LCS got one in and they accidentaly knocked it over putting it in the display case. A few dabs of superglue later, and they have it marked down to $120. I'm now even more tempted to buy it than I already was.

Yes he's a nice figure. So nice in fact, that I ordered two of him for my store. What pisses me off right now is that some shops are saying that they got theirs this week and my Diamond rep tells me that I'm not getting mine until next week.

    me :throw  diamond rep.

And to make things worse, thanks to the 4th being on tuesday, I have to wait until thursday to get my stuff.
