Man... the Combiner Wars series doesn't sound too good. Granted, I haven't watched any, so I'll probably wait until it's all out, but man, I guess I shouldn't expect much from it...

Also, Bat Primal's swords are from PRiD Wheeljack, not RiD Drift.

At least it wasn't as bad as when you forgot that a majority of the Beast wars Predicons were corrupted Maximals.

 

Here's how I can see Pretenders going down
for the deluxe pricepoint, make the base figure a Scout/Legends
include armours part akin to the RID Minicon battlepacks that homage the Shells, peg onto the legends and create a posable representation of the Pretender shell design

for the voyagers, use Mega Pretenders, keep the base figure as described above, and add the transforming shell

for Leader, we have Ultra Pretenders which would be similar to the Megas, but now feature the additional Vehicle shell (which now has a bonus base mode)

Legends could be the Monstructor guys (no shells) that can still combine.

Maybe it has, but it's something that might only be noticed months away from the actual event. I'd keep a close eye on the swim team having issues down the road.


That aside, I'm more with Vangelus's view on Masterpiece alikes than Seth is. Third parties are at least still trying to copy Hasui (& prior Masterpieces) style of adding little details that weren't part of the animation but break up space. They aren't always successful, but they are trying.

On the other hand, the official Masterpiece toys are going in another direction, which I don't honestly care for. The figures are very plain, and they also will do things I'm not a fan of. (Hollow bits on Shockwave, as well as his backpack stand; leaving the bumper on Ironhide). I get why Seth might be fine with it, but I'd have at least liked him to acknowledged the design change a bit more.
