Is this the first time we've had reveals using in-hand figures and not mockups?

 

Am I crazy or does this look a lot worse than the original Packrat?

 

I think the original Packrat benefited much more from the original Rattrap toy's inaccuracy to the show. It allowed him to be more of his own character. This new mold is so Rattrap though that Packrat pretty much looks like a blue Rattrap. That being said, I like it. I love the little white paint apps they put on the panels behind his head in robot mode.

 

It looks like a slightly different shade of blue, but I think he still looks pretty good. On the plus side, this means that I can leave one version of the mold in robot and another in beast mode without worrying about breaking anything.

 

Fun way to do the reveals. And I think I might actually prefer the copper-ish shade the toy in the video has over the shade of the original. Not everything has to be a 1:1 transfer.

 

The shiny, almost metallic blue of the original is what made it. The new one looks a bit flat in comparison.

Not bad though.

 

I love it. Can't wait for more!

 

I can't speak for your sanity but I think he's much, much nicer than the original. I hope he stays exactly how he is.

Looks good! I'm always down for more Beast Wars figures, haha. Hopefully the other four reveals are just as good, or better. Wonder what mold they'll use for (I assume) Lockdown.

I like it. I like the shades of the colors chosen... actually kinda hope they leave the copper like it is, the original is more drab.

It doesn't look as good as the original to me. Doesn't matter....I don't like the Beastwars in general and surely not the toys out of all of transformers. I'm glad to know I'll be saving some money for better...ah, I mean other things this year, because the whole boxset (what was leaked) including this rat robot figure is not to my liking. Too bad it's not along the combiner wars type line.

 

I love the reveal using the Eggs. It's fun.

As for Packrat, I like it. That's my favorite shade of blue so I dig the figure.

As for my guesses of the others:
Orange: Sandstorm
Green: Fractyle
Purple: Apelinq
Yellow: Double Punch

 

I'm still thinking the theme is BW Uprising. Since it takes place in the Transtech universe, I'm guessing Packrat is going to be the original, who's stuck there and decides to help the rebels.

If the theme is BW:U orange is probably Dinobot, Green is Rattrap, and Yellow is Botanica.

Something I'd personally like to see for the troop builder is TT Autotroopers. Maybe using the Skids mold. It would fit the theme well.

 

Very unique reveal! Can't wait for more.

 

They should do the Easter egg reveal thing every year.
