100-year-old man drives onto sidewalk, hits 9 children, 2 adults near school - thestar.com

100 year old driving a car? Sounds pretty safe to me.

Well, goes to show that 100-year old men shouldn't really be trusted with driving.

Well, someone needs to buy the powder blue Cadillacs. They won't sell themselves.

Seriously though, get this idiot off the streets.

*facepalm* There is a age limit for the young, can we get one for the old too? 100 years old your depth and perception and timing are going to be impaired.

He should have let his 81 year old son drive instead.

I'm for mandatory driving license revocation when driver reaches 70 years of age. Now, I know this is biased, as we have a developed public transport network in my country, and all people older than 65 years get a free monthly pass.

The National Transportation Safety Board found the probable cause of that accident was “unintended acceleration” when George Weller stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake, and then panicked and continued on through the crowd.

Lol, this sounds so wrong but funny.

I think revoking licenses just cause you've reached a certain age is unfair. I've seen 70, 80 year olds in better shape than 20 yr olds. I ain't joking. The best way imo, is for GP's to do eye, reflex and other tests when they reach 60 or older and continually do these tests once every few years or so. When they start reaching ages where people start becoming more impaired around 70 - 90, then they should do test/tests every year.

This.....or at least they should be retested every few years to make sure they can still drive.

Some of the old ppl I've seen on the roads beggars belief. The reaction times of a sloth spring to mind.
