Yikes...what a world we live in.
Things like this are always scary, especially when they're in your own backyard. My only concern is that Target is a huge store with many customers. Why didn't anyone try and help her? I would like to think that if I was in a department store, and I saw this happening, I would step up and try and help that woman.
Whoaly crap on a stick... that's pretty sick.
Forget the world we live in, that is the town I went to high school in...
This is EXACTLY why I was homeschooled.
Yep, that's Dorchester for ya.
Note to self: Do not live in Dorchester if I end up in the Boston area.
And I know this is serious and no laughing matter, but why do I keep getting Dave Chappelle's "When Keepin' It Real Goes Wrong" skits in my mind?
Well I went to a private high school in that town, I didn't even live in dorchester. I did however use public transit to get to school.
Ugh. Beat the shit out of them and parade them around town. They won't do it again, little shits.
I know it sounds brutal, but I wish what Draven said could actually happen to people who do this kind of thing. Real Consequences for their actions.
I wonder what the target employees are supposed to do in that situation. I mean, what the 'book' says.
When I was employed by them, if I saw something like this, I'd have jumped in and whaled on those kids' asses myself. (and, I would have been fired, no doubt) But, I do wonder what they're supposed to do when a customer gets jumped by other customers.
and those kids totally need to be sentenced to public ass whuppings.
Same here. Some people need a good beating.
So...why'd they take her pants off?
kids need the shit beat out of them when they pull crap like this..
I think it's different policies for different companies.
I work for the A's. Which means we deal with fights pretty much every night. What we're told to do is if a fight breaks out, to control a perimeter around the fighters. Let them beat the shit out of themselves but don't get yourself involved. Once we get into a physical altercation, we're liable to be sued left and right. We have a full squad of OPD to deal with the fighters and they usually respond instantly.
OPD has told us that if they arrive and see that we're in there throwing punches as well that they'd drag our asses out by our hair as well.
The absolute most we can do in absolutely dire situations is to get our own security guards on the scene if OPD isn't there yet and subdue the perps. But that is definitely a last resort. We can get them on the ground or push them up against the wall and slap cuffs on them, but that's it.
We've had to do that many times when OPD wasn't quick enough to respond and the situation got out of hand.
But definitely we're told to secure a perimeter first so that by the time OPD comes, they can easily jump in, kick ass, and drag people out by their hair.
Interesting policy, though I don't know what the 'As' are.
I'm willing to bet that a lot of things just depend upon the people involved and the actions they take.
Used to work at Dillons, a supermarket. One day, I guy with a gun came in and tried to rob the place. A bagboy took him at the knees, got the gun away, and was given a bonus for 'couragous behavior'.
I was working the night shift when a guy tried to rob me. I scared him off with my boxcutter and got suspended for not 'following the rules' which said give up the money. :-/
