    Hello,

I'm a long-time lurker and admirer of all the amazing work that gets showcased on these forums. I finally decided to have a crack at a scratch-build myself (or part-scratch-build at least), of G1 Bumblebee seeing as he was one of my favourite characters who hasn't received a Masterpiece treatment, and I figured it was time to post some in-progress pics here to get some feedback and constructive criticism. It's taken ages to get this far and there's still a lot of work left to be done, as you can see. I wanted to go for a G1 look but with a bit of an IDW aesthetic (although so far it's turning out to have more of a Dynasty aesthetic, thanks to the giant Joan Collins shoulder pads).

The head in these pics was modded from a Binaltech Sideswipe, the VW Bug is a Tamiya 1/24 kit, the legs are from a Binaltech Smokescreen (I saw wan_de_real use these legs for an MP BB to great effect), the arms from a Gundam kit, and as you can see there are lots of lego parts crammed in there too.

The doors are going to be attached to the arms (the lower arms in the images are just placeholders), and the bonnet will fold down on the inside of the feet, like in the prototype images for iGear's upcoming PP04 BB. The arms still need the most work, then it needs lots of strengthening and refining, as it's all very rough at the moment and the parts barely hold together in alt mode.

That's really slick man !!!!! The BB is turning out nicely , but I don't see how your going to attach the arms at the the lower part of the arm , without doing some kind of swivel hing (which is always a pain in the @$$). Please keep updating this thread , BB is also one of my faverite bots as well so I'd really like to see the build ;)

Also , are you going to be keeping this after you finish or selling it ?

hey, great start. On my first custom I toyed with posing it constantly transforming it aswel. It effected the durability of the end result. I would say, but others my differ in this. I would say to focus on the build and play with it more when youve done.

So far its working out good. I like where this is going. I have a 1/24 scale Tamiya beetle to which i picked up new on a table top sale for 50p. Im thinking of sticking a takara Mp Skywarp into it. Looks like an impssibility when you put em together. But hey! Im gonna give it my best shot though.

Please keep us posted, ans I cant wait to see more.

Have you though ton what to do with the wheels on the feet. Id love em to fold/tuck away, that would be awsome. I saw it on a skids build once.

Im gonna subscribe to this thread.

I aplaud your work good sir! Personally I think you should just add some rust to him and have him be BB's Junkion cousin.

Looks great so far and I love the fenders on the shoulders, it reminds me of this t-shirt my girlfriend has.
