    Hi everyone,

Today I want to showcase one of my latest 1:18th scale transformer projects, Scorponok.

Ever since coming out of the Joecon in '07 and seeing Transformers on the IMax, I could not stop thinking that the soldier parts could have been easilly been replaced with GI Joe characters, espicially now that we have a Joe movie as well. I had two sceens I wanted to make into dioramas and one of them was the Scorponok desert fight. I did a quick photoshop picutre with some Joes and upsize the deluxe figure.

Now with the success of my Bumblebee hydrospan project, it was time to do it again and upsize Scorponok. Since this guy only had the one mode in the movie, I did not opt to duplicate all his features from the toy. He has articulation in the tail, arms and claws open and head moves. Most of the gears were removed leaving only the parts that were exposed. One change in the design is that the stinger cast is the orignial size and the extended was shortend since the launching feature was not duplicated.

Like I said, he is just a work in progress so far. I have more sanding to do, fill in some more air bubbles and painting, but for now, enjoy the sneak peak. Oh yeah, just for fun, I thru in a custom TSgt Epps and Cpt Lennox figures in a quick dio shot for size comparison.

Cool, but was hoping to not see the fact he still transforms to a robot-mode.

I thought maybe he' turn into an Engine or turbine or something :)

Still... This is really cool. And I want those custom Joe's of Tyrese and Josh Dumal.

    Hey everyone,

Thanks for the comments so far. As requested, here is a pic showing the size difference between the original deluxe figure next to my Hydrospan grown Scorponok.

    Hey Everyone,

Well I finished it. I have him all painted and applied my decals on him.

The legs holes int he torso were moddified so that the legs can be possitioned to support the body instead of the original possition of the deluxe toy. The claws can open and there are some movement in the arms, head and tail. It a static figure but he is perfect as part of a dio. Enjoy the pics.

I'd like to see a tutorial on how you made you movie/joes characters I see ROC Duke parts in there care to enlighten me? :)  Great work on scoponok btw he kicks ass. I really would have loved to see Blackout finished. I just bought a 1:18 Blackhawk I'm going to convert into Blackout and hopefully keep transformable, any chance you could hydrospan me a head? PM if your interested!

    One question.

Why is this NOT available for purchase on your website?????

Fantastic work...and great idea. This would totally justify my secret G.I.Joe collection that I have gathered over time.
