I have a small conundrum. I'm going to be able to get an autograph from Claudia Wells tomorrow at the http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-conventions-get-togethers/333806-nuke-fridge-con.html. Claudia played Jennifer in the first movie, but not II or III (that was Elisabeth Shue). So, do I get her to sign the Version I car from the first movie (which she was never inside), or the hovering version from Part II which was also at the end of Part I (which she was inside)?
I ended up going with the first version since it was primarily featured in the movie she was in. The second version was more known for Elisabeth Shue's Jennifer.
Funny timing, my friends actually met Christopher Lloyd today and got to sit in a replica Delorean, and got his Outatime licence plate signed.
Finally Saved the cash to get this thing.....annnnd...my local TRU is out of the "normal" part one version. I knew I'd probably never see em again, (TRU is an hour drive for me), so I settled for the part three version. LOVE IT! Any feeling of disappointment I had at being the dirtied up version quickly went away when I busted this baby out of the box. Bright lights, great sound effects too! The paint is pretty good as well. This thing actually looks dirty and not just painted dirty. I didn't know beforehand the headlights and taillights and exhaust vents lit up as well. There's lights all over this thing. Really bright ones too. Especially the flux capacitor and headlights. Anyways, enough gushing....time for pics. First up the exterior. Interior detailing Now for the lights Flux capacitor. Really hard to see in pics, but the light is more white and it does actually light up in the correct y-shape. And the glory shot
Aargh, you git! I saw these at my local comic shop and was put off by them being all plastic, coupled with the large size. After seeing one all lit up though, I'm really tempted to get one. I thought the dirt effect was really impressive, though I'd probably try to go for one of the earlier cars.
Even better, the time circuts and dashboard light up as well. These things are great, but huge and while not super-expensive, not cheap. Worth it, though.
I'm still undecided on the EE hover version or the regular version. With the $5 price different + shipping, the EE hover version is about $15 more than the plain version I can get at my local TRU. Can any of you guys tell me if the hover version has anything else that the original version doesn't have? I'm just not sure the convertible wheels is worth $15 to me since this car will most likely just sit on a shelf anyway. ..and does the original/plain TRU version have anything that the hover version doesn't have? Thanks!
Nope. Unless you count the plutonium access hatch instead of Mr. Fusion, but it's just a sculpted disk, does nothing.
Dude, that rocks. Same here. And I also am having a hard time trying to decide between the the first DeLorean (w/o Mr. Fusion), and the one with Mr. Fusion. They have some different sounds to them as well.
My totally awsome wife found me the part one version at a different TRU. So I got some more pics for everyone. Yup, The part one version has the "empty plutonium chamber" alarm. Heard in the film shortly after marty arrives in 1955. The part three version has a special time travel sequence, that ends with the stereotypical Hollywood Indian battle cry. Representing his encounter with them immediately upon arriving in 1885 in the film. The other difference between the two are the obvious Mr. Fusion vs the plutonium chamber, the exaust vents are different colors, different license plates, The wheels, the part three has the vacuum tubes on the hood, and of course the different paint jobs. Also, there is a slight difference on the button for the sound effects. Located just in front of Mr fusion. On the part three care it is more of a flat rectangular piece, on the part one car its a tall cube shaped thing. Now time for more pics. Part one version exterior- This version has the classic outtatime license plate- Paintjob comparison- Had to put someone in there. Green ranger was the closet in scale figure- Mr fusion vs. Plutonium reactor- Interior shot. Still hard to see all the detail Dashboard and time circuit lights, cuz I forgot last time. Flux capacitor again, still really hard to make out in pictures, these lights are bright! more fun with the cars all lit up.
Anyone wanting the BTTF III- Rail Ready version, DO NOT order from TRU.com. They've sent me the wrong thing 3 times. 2 Mark Is and the white-walled version of the Part III. I just went and pre-ordered it from Entertainment Earth.
