Netflix Daredevil writer?! Cool! Enjoyed the series immensely, the darker, grittier and holy s*it moments were pretty awesome. So, does that mean we will be getting an 'All Hail Megatron' -dark and gritty transformers movie interpretation!?

    I CANT WAIT ! :D

    Same here!

I was already PLENTY excited for the 5th movie...but hearing about how well-curated this writer's room must be, not to mention the talent involved, and the studio's all-out push to establish the continuity of this already awesome franchise as a full-blown cinematic universe of ongoing core films PLUS sequels with spin-offs and prequels and whatever else has me really psyched for the next decade-or-two of TF movies.

    XD

    Hmm...

You know, this Writer's room has gotten quite ... interesting, to say the least.

And also, this team is blooming PACKED! The Walking Dead guy, the Iron Man writers, the guy who wrote Black Hawk Down, three female writers (which is in my view and fact a super plus) ... Man!

Loved the Daredevil show so looking forward to season two. I hope they know what they're doing. Yes, I'm honestly saying that. Lol!

Oh! And hi! I'm back! On TFW2005 of all things! Man I miss this place. :)

It's a good choice but with so many writers on board I'm getting a 'too many chefs' feeling about all of this.

Oh come now. I've said the most positive thing about these movies that I think I've ever said, and you wanna focus on the the worst-case scenario my mind came up with?

Whilst I know all of folk feel that the films aren't the greatest (and for some that's an understatement) but is it going to be a case of too many cooks spoil the broth or give a million monkeys types writers they will eventually come up with Shakespeare?

Daredevil managed dark without feeling like it was just riding the overused trend in Hollywood. The dark felt fitting instead of forced and dark with a fun edge instead of just dark to down and depressing. Spartacus managed to have some great villains and fun. So yea qualities that could help the Transformers film franchise since we seem to be stuck with dark and pushing the bounds of the ratings with violence.

Have to admit, I'm blown away at the shocking amount of talent they've been wrangling in. I just hope this is all a lead-up to a full tilt reboot down the road rather than spidering out and expanding off of Bay's whatever-they-are's.

    ...

Okay, maybe they can work something out with this expanded universe. If they manage to keep it in continuity AND be good, I'll be impressed.

Looks like Paramount is aware that the past 3 TF films are crap story wise and are stepping up their game.

Especially in the age of cinematic universes, Paramount has to keep up with the other studios and this is their biggest franchise after losing stuff like Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and etc.

as some have said, a reboot doesnt mean it will be automactlly fixed, what matters is getting good talent, imagine if they decide to reboot and the films are directed by someone that people would consider much much worse?

While that's always a possibility I don't know if we can get any sort of meaningful changes with just going the way things are going and hope that if you throw enough talented writers at the project it can feel like a franchise that isn't worn out and repetitive as a film series. Yes there are lots of bad directors in Hollywood, yes there are production teams that do poorly translating from script to screen. But I feel like it's worth the risk.
