Have no clue what "hall H" is or why its such a big deal. Ive never been to SDCC and probally never will. Im not really into comics to begin with.
Don't read too much into it. They have a movie coming out, they want to find ways to express optimism about it, like they've got something good on their hands that you'll have to see it for yourself. One way of expressing optimism is talking about how they've got sequels on the drawing board. That's a way of communicating that they have faith in their product. Of course if it fails, they'll be very quick to adjust their 'plans'. We've seen it a number of times before.
The previous films always seemed to be marketed as “Here’s the next Transformers movie with tons of action”. They’d show off explosions, robots fighting, and humans running from destruction in almost every trailer and tv spot. Paramount seems to be marketing Bumblebee as a “This is still a Transformers film, but it’s much calmer while still having some action in it.” Not that you care. Hall H is THE place at SDCC to show off upcoming films and tv series. It’s pretty much been described as the most important marketing place for Hollywood. I think it comes from the fact that Hall H has mostly been used as a place to show off some pretty big stuff.
Thank you for your explanation. Its more than the other guy gave me. Heaven forbid there be a transformers fan who only follows transformers.
To queue or not to queue? That is the question. The answer is, if I have to queue overnight then forget about it!
You seem to care an awful lot for a guy asking if anyone really cares, what with posting in every single movie thread that pops up. We get it, you don't care for the live-action films. I'm willing to bet that not a single one of us will think otherwise if you just stop posting in them. And suddenly "Holy shit, Afterburner didn't post in this thread about the movies! He must actually love them a whole lot." No, that's not how that works at all.
The most important change to me is that it's a different vision behind it. They could hardly have secured a more exciting choice for director with such a broken down franchise. Even if the Michael Bay TF movies had been brilliantly scripted and hit all the right story beats in an entertaining and satisfying manner, it would still be shot through the lens of Michael Bay, how he sees the world with all the vulgarity that he brings to everything. Shedding that in favour of a director who actually has a certain amount of taste and sophistication and humanity is a big step.
Ignore Afterburner. He's gonna keep complaining until he runs out of steam. Whining like a Baby won't get him anywhere.
