I dont like it either but if you look at alot of the large scale toys released over the years they simply arent that complex. I seams like the bigger the toy is the the less detail goes in it. Look at deluxe concept bb and ultimate bee. You can see the shift from accuracy and design over to features and lights and sounds as the toy gets bigger.

Their market research was obviously wrong.

It's not that its wrong its just the we are not the target market. Older fans like complex toys. However, everytime I see a kid in the toy aisle they run around and hit those stupid lights and sounds buttons over and over again.

Take a look at whats happening to GI Joe. The 25th line was awesome and obviously made for the collector market. The new movie line is designed for kids and now all those joes have these stupid firing missles cuz kids love them. The design of the toys changed based on the target market.

Gee, how about Predaking, for example? That guy had a lot of small, detatchable parts, and he was pretty damn large.

Hey I love Predaking but how much did he cost when he got reissued? I'm not saying that hasbro cant do it. I'm saying the market wont support it

Studio Half Eye could probably make a movie-accurate transforming Devastator. But it would cost well over 1K.

You know, there is a thing called "sarcasm". I know people wouldn't suppoort a $200 Dev, I am saying that I believe one with transforming lims would be worth it. And you have no idea the market won't support it. I have seen $300+ Lego sets sell like hotcakes.

The thing I don't like has to do with accurate-ness. If Dev didn't have transforming lims in the movie, I think a VERY large amount of fans would have no problem with buying him.

I'm not quite seeing the comparison to E. Prime.

because energon prime had vehicles that made his arms and legs, but at least energon prime transformed..... the prime part did anyway. I was pissed about that too. So I bought mine on clearance.

See, the comparison doesn't work for me. Prime's drones were just that: drones. They weren't pre-existing characters laughably assigned crappy new bodies. If they'd been supposed to be Inferno, Seaspray, Springer and Tracks, then I'd see the comparison. But E. Prime's drones were just a continuation of the theme of Prime combining with his trailer.

In a fandom where one tiny negative makes fans say stuff like "I'll wait for clearance"? Very unlikely.

why would you buy a pile of shit at clearance if you are not willing to buy a pile of shit at normal price?

this thing is just not worth buying......

So the non-transforming aspect is now confirmed?

Thanks for saving me £100 Hasbro!
