"No discussion of Religion" a bit too broad?

Can't we discuss certain topics, like how religion formed or how certain things relate to a certain religion?
The topic about that Golden Disc that was started, it has a religious feel to it. Just want some clarification on it

btw, was this rule here since this site was, or did a thread or two go haywire which forced the rule into position?

No religion means just that. No religious discussion at all. It has been proven in the past that it is a hot button topic that always polarises opinions.

As for the origin of the rule, it has always been in force since I stopped lurking and started posting back in '03.
