I noticed when not logged in, about 1/4th of the right side of the screen is taken up by those ebay links, but goes away when I log in...something new?

Yes, for non logged in users, there is now a sidebar on the right side of the forum home and forum listings pages. Its set around 200 pixels wide, so 1/4th would mean you are on 800 pixel resolution . Site is designed for 1024 and above, under 10% of users here are on 800.

Reasoning - increase revenue to support new server, provide targeted relevant ads on our hobby rather than generic banners and/or adsense, and give logged in folks a perk for being logged in.
