Hello all, It's Andrew Mercer your friendly neighborhood Toy Inventor. I've recently discovered some old slides buried in a box deep in my collection. They appear to be from the original photo shoots used for the G1 Instruction booklets of Optimus Prime and Grimlock. I am not 100% sure of their origin, when I first saw them 10 years ago I knew they were something special so I picked them up. The quality of each image is amazing, I imagine they would look great blown up to poster size.

With today being the 30th Anniversary I figured it would be the perfect time to share this blast from the past. Enjoy!

Sheer beauty. I recall receiving the truck cab of Optimus Prime from a friend, and I loved it (until my little brother accidentally snapped the poor thing's head off). I'd love to get another one, as it is still a great toy, even next to modern Transformers with superior posibility.

Those are so cool! I wish Grimlock, and all the G1 Dinobots came with chrome swords like their Diaclone predecessors. Like the cartoon models compiled into The Ark books, vintage relics like this should be put into a "behind the scenes" G1 Book; or is one already in the works?

Keep in mind these are the transparencies, not the original photos. Very cool and thanks for sharing.
