its not all that different. chrome carried over from Black Convoy, looks like he has metallic stickers now. more G2 autobot symbols, and a few more paint applications.

I expected it to use the spychanger's color scheme.

EDIT: oh, wow. his chest is chromed now.

 

Normally, I wouldn't spend the money for a Japanese import, but I think I'll actually buy this one. Sadly it's already an e-hobby exclusive so it's unlikely we'll get a Black Convoy paintjob on it again any time soon.

 

The e-hobby exclusive is G2 Magnus, the Battle Convoy/Laser Prime is a regular reissue. I too was expecting something more similar to the Spychanger Prime, but this is a nice update of the original color scheme (improving on it but not changing it dramatically).

This guy is a giant let down for me. I too was hoping for a paint scheme like the spychanger prime. This one is different enough from the original though to make it worth it for some. I'm really surprised that they didn't go with a more G1 prime like appearance with how much japan seems to really like things to look like him.

 

I wanted a G1 color scheme so badly...

That does look really nice. Miles better than the G2 original. The new stickers, black waist, blue stripe under his "pecks", and dark grey shoulder pads make all the difference in the world. I like. A lot.

 

I just dont get the randomly chrome chest. I'm used to stuff like that on bootlegs, but not official products.

Possibly not...it was pre-applied the first time round, after all...

i know, thats why i hope it comes unapplied this time. The original colorscheme of the figure wasnt exactly the best thing, but that cheezy sticker didnt helped either

 

I'm hopeing for Delta to do a G1 Style trailer sticker set for him

 

Well, the chrome chest does make it more appealing. I'm still not sure if I want it or not.

Well, looks somewhere between the same as the original G2 and significantly worse, so I think I'll be passing... on than Magnus repaint too.
