Even though Auto Assembly 2011 is only 38 days away, we're not sitting around doing nothing! We're still busy making plans and working on more announcements to make sure that Auto Assembly 2011 is going to be our biggest and best convention ever! How are we going to do that? By bringing you another guest, for starters... You've asked for him so you've got him back! We're talking about noe other than the legendary G1 Marvel comic artist, Geoff Senior who is making a very welcome return to Auto Assembly this year! Geoff worked on Marvel's lengthy run of comics in the UK as well as contributing the the Marvel US title, and the first issue of Titan's relaunched title following the release of the live action movies, but that's not all. Alongside Simon Furman, Geoff is responsible for co-creating one of comics most well-loved Bounty Hunt... err, Freelance Peace Keeping Agents, Death's Head who has recently been revived in Panini's Marvel Heroes in a new story penned by Simon Furman! Geoff will be signing autographs all weekend and joining all of our comic guests on stage in a special Q&A Panel on the Saturday. That's not all though... To celebrate the return of Death's Head, we will be holding a special Death's Head Panel on the Sunday where Simon Furman and Geoff Senior will take to the stage, along with Death's Head's new artistic team of Simon Williams, Jason Cardy and Kat Nicholson to talk about their cult character. This is one panel you won't want to miss! The convention is taking place over the weekend of 12th - 14th August 2011 at the Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre, Birmingham, England and tickets are available from the website now. For more details on the convention, to see a full list of all the guests and activities taking place over the weekend, or to book your tickets, visit the website at Auto Assembly We hope to see you all in August! Wish I could be there, but sadly I'm an ocean away. Kind of off-topic, but does anyone have a larger version of the Death's Head thumbnail on the frontpage? It's amazing.
This dude is by far one of the best artists with true G1 style. Powerful drawn action scenes. No superflous detail, stupid appearance-reinventions or exaggerated manga stuff like nowadays.
Sure thing! You can find it and all kinds of other great art from Geoff on his homepage: Visuals, storyboards and illustration : Geoff Senior, London A picture of Deaths Head just seemed appropriate
We did have a video announcement planned but kinda screwed ourselves over with our flyers that came back from the printers a few days early as I had forgotten that Geoff's name was on them... so I had to make the announcement now rather than delay the distribution of the flyers for one last major in-store push across the UK! lol
