    SPOILERS

I've seen an "advance copy" of Stargate Continuum, the Direct to DVD movie slated for release on July 29th.

This post will contain spoilers (as if it wasnt clear enough)

This movie takes place after the events of "Ark of Truth" and after the first episode of season 5 of Stargate Atlantis.

Here is the synopsys of the movie

The movie is very good, better than Ark of truth in my opinion.

The movie re-uses several plot devices from earlier episodes and the plot device from Star Trek : First contact.

Ba'al managed to take over the Goa'uld system lords because of the promise he made Teal'c to free the Jaffa's. The only System lord to resist Ba'al still is Apophis who gets killed by have the top of his head sliced off.

Several formerly dead Goa'uld also make an appearance, Ra, Camulus, Lord Hu, Nirrti, Kronos.

The Late Don S. Davis reprises his role of Gen Hammond, his last work it seems.

Richard Dean Anderson does reprise his role of Bigadier General Jack O'Neill, he however dies very early on in the movie.

There are some very nice scenes in the movie including the meeting with Gen. Landry, Daniel calling his alternate self. Some nice shots too with the Nuclear sub and the F-15's

I'd say go buy the DVD when it comes out, worth it. I'd give a 4 out 5

Uh, I too saw an "advanced copy" and I must say that it was a very good movie. It's better than The Ark of Truth. It's a definite buy.

Well Jack did die, but you see his alternate self later on. The one thing that I would gripe about would be the various loopholes and such but eh, time travel movies always make mistakes. In this instance, the whole movie shouldn't have happened because the attack by Ba'al was thwarted before it happened. But then, how could it be thwarted if no one knew about it?? But then, how could someone have known about it if it never happened? And so on and so on..... :lol

Overall, I still enjoyed it. The best part in the movie was: Spoiler The look on Ba'als face from happy to surprised when Mitchel shot him in the head. :lol  Spoiler

Sounds like it might have a minimal amount of Vala. That displeases me. :(

Vala isnt in the movie that much it's true, only at the beginning and the end. However Claudia Black still has a fair amount of screentime as Vala's Goa'uld counterpart Quetesh

Yeah, Vala doesn't have that much screentime which sucks. For an oldie she is still hot.

They also kill Vala (Quetesh), Teal'c, Daniel (after he gets a leg amputated), Carter.

Ba'al actually gets killed 3 times in the movie.

Can't wait to get this. Finally finished getting all the season sets a few weeks ago. Sam's Club had them all for $17. Now here's hoping they get Atlantis cheap.

Well I suppose if Zathras says it must be so. I was going to buy it anyway   It's just so hard for me to think of Stargate SG-1 in the past tense.

and if I did get smart with you how would you know?
