Who is this mysterious Benefactor?

In the Episode Meltdown, Promethus Black was talking to a man. Specifically, this man.




One of the first things I thought when I saw this episode was 'Huh. I wonder who this guy could be'? This mysterious benefactor of Prometheus Black, one who was managing his prison test subjects, seemed suspiciously important for someone for Black to simply bounce words off. Who is he? Why is he funding steroid abuse, and funneling prisoners as experimental test subjects?

But with nothing to go on, I dropped the question. Until today. Today, I was rewatching Blast from the Past, and look who should appear at the forefront of the action...




Who is this man with the pink glasses and thick moustache, this, Pink Glasses Man, who manages prisoners and scopes out robotic dinosaurs? Is he looking for potential weapons? Perhaps, like Megatron, he seeks an army... Maybe he is just the face of a deeper, darker orginization. Mark my words, there is more to him, then meets the eye.

I hearby dub this thread the PGM watch. Any and all PGM sitings shall henceforth be posted in this thread, until we find out who this mysterious man is...

It appears our mysterious Benefactor bears the name 'Porter C. Powell'. Awful big name for a nameless big background character.

Mr Powell, we are on to you!

 

I never noticed PGM until I saw this thread. Had to go back and re-watch the episodes.

Though I kind of doubt there's more to Pink-Glasses Man at the moment, it'd be a fun surprise if his role proves to be much larger than anticipated.

What I really want to know is why is Dracula the Mayor of Detroit...

It's possible they just pull his design sheet up to fill out crowd scenes.

 

It'd be cool to have a criminal mastermind behind the scenes so to speak. A human that could be talked into selling out the human race for his own personal power. One who understood the deal he was making with a devil he'd recognise like Megatron. (unlike a certain guilt-ridden scientist who deal's with Megs now)

 

It's a hologram for Megatron (notice he's only been seen since Megs was awake again and in control of all of Sumdac's technology??)

 

isn't there an episode in the second season, where a "mastermind" or what ever, creates his own version of the "legion of doom"? with all the various "super villains" created in this show?

and another questions, could he be the "headmaster"?

Fwiffo, i laughed so hard reading your suspicions about 'PGM'! Sharp observation work there mate! Maybe there will be more to PGM or "Mr. Powell" in future, we shall see. For now tho', I'm not expecting much from him. At most, he'll just be a recurring face of prominence at important events since he seems to be a wealthy backer of scientific advances.

Now, with that out of the way, great eye there. I'd love for this to actually be something that turns into something major, especially if that IS some sort of hologram/android agent of Megatron. He shows up at robot dinosuars, manages prisoners, and as we saw in Nanosec, Megatron DOES seem to have a thorough knowledge of Detroit's prison roster.


Something to think on as I sleep. My 1001st post can wait til morning.
