So got in the Alt prowl today and I thought I would give a small review of the figure along with a ton of images so you can see for yourself what this figure is like.

If you have any of the previous KO alts then you know of what their quality is like. It is OK but not great. This one is not like any of the previous figures. This has taken the bar up considerable. it is not perfect but for what they cost, they are close enough for me.

You can see by the box that is the very similar to the Japanese box. The text has all been translated into english with their not so good translations. Some of them are quite funny to read as you can see here.

When I first pulled out the figure I was impressed. it felt solid and had good weight to it. I think the only thing I did not like upon first impression was the tires for the wheels. They did not seem to fit quite right and the wheels were unimpressive themselves. I don't recall if the BT version had chrome wheels or not but this one did not. They are just grey. The figure transforms the same as the Alternator and felt much the same when transforming it. All the joints were good and tight with the exception of the rear bumpers but if I recall correctly, they were not that much better on the Hasbro version either. Robot mode is nice and can pose without problems. He can hold both weapons without issues and can use them in any pose the original one can.

I think my only two issues with this figure is the tires and wheels and some of the paint. It seems a little sloppy in places and you can see some of the overspray in others. The white paint on the car is stunning and there are no problems with that, it is more of the red on the arms or the black bumpers that are not as good as could be.

Final opinion is this is a great figure to pick up if you dont have one. I am excited about the release of the blue version and the Chinese Police version of this figure. I think they will be great additoins to a line that is getting much better quality wise.

Is the plastic really that ugly yellowish color, or is it just because of the pics?

 

Maybe it's carved out of ivory.

The real question is ... do the damn window mirrors break off like they're made of fine china like the original?

Either way, this is tempting enough that I might actually pick him up.

 

Impressive for a KO, from what I can tell in the pics the wheels are just like the BT version - or at least very close.

 

I think the yellow is more the images than the actuall figure. It is more of a 'pearl' colour then yellow. The car body is nice and white.

I don't recall how the original one was done but here is an image of the inside of the door for this one and how the mirror is attached. It has a large peg that is melted on the inside. I used the mirriors to open the doors of the car several times without even thining about it and nothing happened.

Been really wanting to get an alt Prowl and this seems like a decent enough KO that I won't mind it not being an original.

Edit: Nevermind..found it.

About half the cost of getting the real deal, not bad at all.

Never realize the prototype's hand color is different from the actual release of prowl, I like the black and silver version better. So is this a BT KO or Alts KO? Because on the car body I see different white tones

 

Anyone know how the Wheeljack KO held up to the Binlaltech/Alternators? Please let me know. I had one in my hands many many months ago and decided I'd get it later. Obviously you guys know that was a bad move. I can't see myself paying $80 for a $20 toy that was out only months ago.   If I need to get a KO version, then that's what I need to do. Thanks in advance.
