Heya gang, just picked up good ol' Skywarp today, and thought I'd share my thoughts with you all! As expected, if you have MP Starscream, then there's nothing really new here. The construction is not quite as robust as Prime's, but the elegant design in the robot and jet modes make up for it. Only this time, he has a freakin' sweet deco! If you're a fan of 'Warp in any way whatsoever, this is seriously the ultimate Skywarp figure money can buy. He just oozes sneakiness, evil, and just pure 'bastard'ness in every way imaginable!! What surprised me is how..shiny he is! He's almost a pure glossy black, with very shiny silver and vibrant purple plastic, which makes him stand out a lot more than Starscream did. I'm almost reminded of the case with their Classics figures too. This helps a ton, as it makes his jet mode look totally awesome. and of course, his alternate face, what I like to call his 'Bad passport/license photo' face, is utterly hilarious XD. If you loved MP Starscream, then I highly recommend Skywarp as he complements him nicely. If you didn't...well there isn't a whole lot I can say to convince you otherwise, other than his deco is really really nice. I had heard from news reports that they were gonna fortify some of the mold's weak spots (like the wing joints) with diecast, but they didn't do that, which is kinda disappointing as I can almost tell the wing joints will eventually show those same stress marks again, though my Skywarp was pristine when I opened him. Overall, I say Skywarp is definitely an 8/10!
Man i want this guy, but you cant have it all... my cash is already bound to div. pre-orders and G.1's coming in... oh well I hope they'll be around for christmas at a decent price too.
I found this statement quite disappointing, considering I passed on Starscream because of the poor joints; and because I've got Skywarp pre-ordered. Oh well, I'm committed now.
I'm a bit torn really. I don't know if it's me, but Skywarp's plastic quality seems to feel a tiny bit more robust than Starscream's, but I'm not sure if that's just the glossy paint I'm feeling. How much you like him is really dependent on how big a Skywarp fan you are, and whether you liked the MP Screamer mold, which I did. I really really wish they fortified those wing joints though. But hey, that's why I got two.
Here's how the change works. http://www.seibertron.com/toys/fullsize.php?id=1041&size=1&image=170 http://www.seibertron.com/toys/fullsize.php?id=1041&size=1&image=171 http://www.seibertron.com/toys/fullsize.php?id=1041&size=1&image=172
I plan to get two but I got this email from Lost and Found Toys today: Arriving soon is Macross Zero 1/60 SV-51 and Masterpiece MP-06 Skywarp. As you may have heard, there will be an initial shortage of MP-06 Skywarp. We are currently doing everything we can to ensure that pre-orders are fulfilled. At the moment it appears that we will not have addtional units for in-stock purchase. Has anyone heard from other online vendors about this? Or is this just the case with Lost and Found Toys?
dammit. got scooped. again. anyway heres mah pics. no apparent QC issues on mine so far. get him. as already mentioned, great colors and finish. haha goofy face.
Nnnrrrgh. So... tempted! But... scared of QC crappiness. *mutters further to self* Hmm. What does a "disinterested in Decepticon cause and considering treason" face look like?
I pre-ordered him shortly after he went up at TFSource. I hope my order is filled. I didn't get a shortage email, so I hope that means I'm ok. He looks really sexay. I read in another thread that the wing joints were made of better quality plastic, hope that is true.
Ahhhh! You guys suck. I gave in and bought him off eBay for $92 shipped. Takara better release Thundercracker, I want my 84' seekers lined up behind Megatron.
Those colors do look nice on that mold. I just don't want another $100 seeker with cracked wing joints.
