I have Gunbuster and he is AMAZING! Extremely nice toys!

 

Is the SPEC Eva considered a SOC? It doesn't seem to fit into that line.
I've got theoriginal Unit01 EVA SOC and it's one of my all-time favorite toys. Actually all of the SOC figures I have are favorites. I just got the original Ultraman from Bandai's other Chogokin line (name escapes me at the moment) and it's every bit as awesome as a SOC figure. I keep meaning to post some pics of him in the "Cool Stuff" thread.

 

If I ever get an Eva-01 SOC, I'm gonna get the Rebuild version. I have a question on the 400% Synch Ratio Eva-01 SOC, does it have the armor to create a normal Eva-01?

 

Guys, new to mazinger....is this the same as Tranzor Z ?

is SOC the same as revoltech?

if no, what is SOC?

 

No, SOC is Soul of Chogokin, which I think means "Soul of Diecast" or something. They don't have Revoltech joints, but are still pretty poseable and detailed

With the lineup of SOC and SPEC figures coming up I know where most of my toy budget is going for the forseeable future  

 

Yeah, Mazinger Z was dubbed as Tranzor Z back in the day.

SoC has been going a lot longer. Bigger scale (the average are twice the size of Revoltechs) they tend to have a good amount of metal in them, even more accessories, display stands and stuff like that.

You pay a pretty penny for them of course, but they are amazing display pieces and look incredible.

There isnt a SoC Mazinkaiser. Nice Maz and Great Maz. Always though of getting them but not enough incentive.

 

Yeah, IMO the SOC line is probably the best robot toyline right now. The design, engineerting, extra and decent articulation are a winning combo? By the way Viper, did you get your SOCs during your Japan trip?

If you have enough cash, I suggest Dancougar, Ideon or Gunbuster...really amazing toys!

 

Yap! I was strolling Akihabara and its great! Japan is really a nice place its clean, safe but the girls are ... well quite OK.

Yap its probably the best toyline today. If Transformers were SOC then holy cow I mean the possibilities are endless plus with SOC you get to have spare hands and accessories. Highly recommended!

 

LOL! Good catch, I think I did ask you to check out the other toys there like SOC but don't know if you read that post or if you remembered to do so.

All I know is that I had to tell ya to check out the other cool stuff since you were in Tokyo...never been there personally but my friends who did went really crazy...in terms of toys of course! XD

 

It's nice to actually see a real picture of that Mazinger Z Renewal. I ordered one through Previews with my local comic shop so I've still got mooooooonths to wait for it. I hope to God they actually come through on him because he's sold out everywhere I've looked and I really would like to have my own Tranzor Z. I loved the robot design as a kid and I still do. That's about all I know of Soul of Chogokin, Mazinger or otherwise. Tell me, is Great Mazinger just an upgraded, later version of the robot? He looks very nice too.

 

In a way, yeah the Great Mazinger is considered a more "upscale" version of the Mazinger Z but exost as 2 different bots at the same time. Know what I mean?
