You probably need to put '1986' in the title to this thread or something.

Why is the release date an apprent error? October 2007 sounds reasonable to me.

DOH! 86 Blu-Ray 07 HD DVD! Anyway, the 86 Blu-Ray would need some never-seen-before extras for me to purchase yet another version. I've already got VHS, Laserdisc (2) and DVD multiples of the 86 Movie. Plus I'd have to get a Blu-Ray player (not that I have an HD DVD player either) Still waiting out this format war. :(

Because some of us in the US are silly and forgot about the date thing. Fixing now.

    Who needs a blueray player?

    all you need is:
-a decent pc with a decent graphics card.
    -a usenet account for newsgroups
    -a HD tv off course

Ans you're on your way to enjoy TF the 86 movie ;)

    No thanks.

I JUST got a DVD with loads of bonus features.

And I don't see how a cartoon done in the 80s is gonna look THAT much better in Blu-Ray.

I thought this was common knowledge.

There will be no HD DVD version as Metrodome are only planning on Blu-Ray. And its coming on 17th September.

What's the point of a Hi-Def version of an 80's cartoon? It's not going to look any better than it does now is it?

    Makes. No. Sense... *Head explodes*

Sure it will. I played the animated film DVD on my blue ray and it looks alot better. That only ups the quality a bit, a true 1080p would look fantastic! The first day I had the player I tried it out by using a Star Wars: new hope dvd... and my reaction was pure shock and wonder. I said " who needs Blue Ray? This is beautiful!" That was until I popped in a Blue Ray disc... now I'm very much hooked on HD.

    OT

Man, the UK strikes again. You guys always seem to get the best TF videos first. Wish they weren't PAL or region 2. Well atleast Japan is now region 1. So I can import BRs from Japan. Maybe they will put out the animated film, G1 season1, 2010, Headmasters, Master Force, and Victory!

    It's a 35mm movie, rather than TV-quality anim, no?

Quite a few Blu-Rays are region free so I will try and find out if this is or not.

I will be getting this defiantly so I could give a little review to say how good the transfer is.

Which ones exactly? Every BD I've seen is region locked. That was oen of the big sticking points of the hi-def formats, to make it harder to pirate and harder to unlock the regions.
