Even capped Wal Mart selling Megatron is potentially controversial

It doesn't mention it anywhere on the page, but I wouldn't be surprised if Wal-Mart is partnering with 3rd party smaller merchants. Amazon, TRU, Target all do this now. They auto-import these 3rd party merchant's products, allow sale/checkout thru the Wal-Mart shopping cart, take a cut, and send the order info to the other retailer for shipment.

If the original merchant says "I want no less than 50 bucks", Wal Mart or the original retailer could say "Then Wal Mart must sell for 79.88 to get their cut". Could explain the higher prices.

This broadens their product range online without actually stocking the goods. Only thing is it usually mentions that it's via this method on the other sites. Wal Mart is currently saying it's theirs.

OR, they actually are carrying this collector oriented stuff.

    Very interesting indeed.
    And IN STOCK?

Considering WalMart has several sweat factories in China, I guess we shouldn't be surprised.
Got to be an experimental, online exclusive. Got to compete with Amazon.
Walmart is really trying to take over.
Too bad the prices are insane.
    Very shrewd.

These must just be online only. I can't imagine these selling in stores at these prices.

Wal-Mart has to be tapped into a subsidiary's item database. There's no way they'd stock or sell these themselves.

My guess is that they purchased some toy store in an attempt to bolster the amount of goods offered online. That's why we keep seeing statues, imports, and other odd collectibles online, but not in store.

Pondering ordering that Megatron with site-to-store. But still a bit on the expensive side.

Interesting. But, nearly $100, or $50-60...I know which one I'd go with.

Let's hope these, like Magnus, will end up returned in a store for a cheaper price.

Ditto, except for Soundwave who I picked up as the comemorative re-issue. I do however like the stamped insignia on these.

Doesnt matter - Megs is already gone.
Too steep for me, but for some reason I'm feeling a little upset I didn't blow the $100 on it...
