So are there any good chances of a sequel?

That will only happen if the movie can get its production cost back ($150mill), which is looking rather bleak at the moment.. The movie started off great at the box office, but the numbers are sinking rapidly.

Thursday: Only $18.31M – went down 37% - OUCH. If this keeps up, no sequel.

OMG, if I see one more thread about a sequel I am gonna snap!

There is greenlit news on every major fansite, gosh I wish people would use the search engine!

It's faster than posting another useless thread about the same crap everyone else who doesn't use the search engine posts!

*sorry I'll stop my temper tantrum!"

how is it looking bleak? you do realise of course that you are only talking about US takings, and that the world contains more than one country? the movie hasn't even been released yet in alot of them..

Dude stop and think for a minute.

Wednesday was a public holiday. Everyone was off work, so hence it did huge numbers. Thursday is just a weekday. Not many people go to the cinema. Friday, Saturday and Sunday will have huge numbers again. It's already made $80 M+ in the US alone and it's still got it's first weekend to go. It'll easily get to around $130 M + by the end of the weekend.

are you kidding me? Do you know how long a movie's theatrical run normally lasts? Let alone a summer tentpole movie??

They will have already doubled their money invested in the first week.

The north American estimate is $150 Million by Sunday night and this does not include the monstrous ticket sales that are being sold overseas.

This is one of the few films where people will watch more than once.

Sales go down on Thursday but they go back up DRAMATICALLY on Friday and Saturday.

You've been on a downer since the film opened - I don't know why! Weird, as you said you liked it and supported the film beforehand. Are you preparing yourself for the worst so that when it doesn't happen you can be relieved? ;)

Of COURSE there's going to be a sequel.

Paramount has been hurting for a franchise. They dug up Star Trek out of the muck even.
