    VEHICLE MODE

A tow truck from the Orson's Towing/Autobots fleet. Nice mix of white, blue, black, silver, red and clear orange in that mode. Perfectly clear windows. Truck is wide and low-profile, I like that. Tow thing has a decent range of movement and can tow Bumblebee with no problem (more difficult with Jazz and there is nowhere for the hook to lock to). I like the truck bed detailing, it gives the truck a more reastic look.

    TRANSFORMATION

Another pretty cool/new transformation. Front of the truck becomes the legs and feet (you basically unfold the front end), cab is the torso, rear becomes the arms, weapon unfold from underneath. Sounds straightforward, but it's actually pretty fun and there is a lot of little steps to do, especially in the arm area. No automorphing here unfortunately.

    ROBOT MODE

Very cool. Unique headsculpt with a little Autobot insignia on the forehead with clear orange light piping. Poseability is very good except for the arm carrying the weapon (gun is bolted tothe arm). Gun is quite big and heavy and has a lauching missile. Hands have 3 fingers each. There's a weird ball joint in the middle of the torso, but it helps getting nice poses. A bit of painted orange thrown in the mix on the legs as well. Robot overall looks very dynamic. Joints : head, neck, shoulders, elbows (2), hands, torso, hips, knees, feet. I can see some joints suffering from looseness eventually : heels, left elbow and torso, but maybe it will be fine, we'll see!

    orson, heh.

another nicely designed non movie toy, after wreckage.

the paint deco makes it look like duck feet.

Eh, not bad. Like Dropkick a bit more though.

Anyways, like all non-movie characters (minus a couple real gears I might pick up) he's a pass for me.

Dude that looks fantastic! I'm definitely looking forward to picking it up. It will join the ranks of my RiD Autobot Army since it doesn't fit in with the Movie guys too well. Thanks for the pics!

My understanding (I wasn't here, I heard this from others who were):

TFW 2005 used to have a section called "Orson's World", where a poster called Orson would answer TF-related questions. Orson, as was unofficially known, was Aaron Archer's pseudonym on the site.

Another fansite (I've heard who, but I won't name names) complained about this to Hasbro (just the idea that TFW had this exclusive access). And that was the end of Orson's World.

When is 08 BB due out anyways, he's wave..3?

Only movie figure I don't have that I wanted for my collection..once I have him I'm done other than a real gear or two and maybe one or two LoC figures. That is unless Leader Brawl impresses.

    Inbox has been emptied!

Btw, I think Longarm's robot mode reminds me of Classic Mirage with the similar colors and overall robot design.

He looks rather hawt. A very nice looking bot mode combined with a useful alt mode (towtruck hehee, Autobots will need it)

A must have in the collection.

    Thnx megatroptimus.

Orson Welles voiced Unicron in the original movie. Not all references are black and white :p
