WARNING, FREAKING SPOILERS ARE HERE kind of.

Word coming in from the Sydney screening is that Brawl is actually called Devestator in the film. Dun-dun-duuuuuun!

Guess they never did end up changing it to Brawl.

No offense, but, that doensn't really make any sense. Everything that we've seen for him has had the name Brawl attached to it, even the toy which has been released, and the future Leader sized one even has the name Brawl attached to him.

 

yeah I was going to say, that the toys say Brawl :/

 

I don't remember anyone saying him by name in the original script, maybe they changed that in the newer script. this could mean we see more of the decepticons speaking int he movie.

Don't care. I want to see "Brawl" in this movie because he's FUCKING AWESOME LOOKING

I don't really care about the name mix-up (unlike some Don Murphy board members: For them it seems to have killed the movie!), but it still seems a really dumb, basic error.
Still time to fix it of course (if someone reports it to Bay!) - With the 'right' name plastered all over the toys, you'd think Hasbro would insist on it.

 

I've been wondering about the names...will they even be spoken in the movie? If the robots really have limited speaking parts, are they really going to sit around and gossip about each other?

If Optimus sees a 'con, is he really going to call him by name before bashing him to a pile?

 

So you mean no one is actually referrring to Brawl as Brawl in the movie and you only see Devastator (instead of Brawl) in the credits at the end?

 

Yeah, I got done reading the book, And in there they call Brawl, Devestator? What's up with this? What's next, Megatron is actually Galvatron in the movie?

 

From reading the other thread, it sounds as though it would be a scene where Brawl is speaking in Cybertronian and the subtitles would say "Devastator: [insert dialogue here]"

 

"Aaand the hoooome.... of theeeeee....... braaaaaaave..."

I dont know, I tihnk that brawl" is the real name, however might have gotten a mix up back when making the comic?? Bay did say the names were on a hiatus so i wouldnt have been supprised if thats what happened.

 

At least he's in the movie. That's really what counts. It should be easy to fix if it's just subtitles that need to be changed.
