    Hi!

While she's not a TF, technically she counts in my book - as she's become a Masterforce-esque Pretender in, well, one of my fics... - plus she's too cool not to show off.

    She's Revoltech Saber!

Along with the rest of my new arrivals, thanks to Anime North:

She's pretty cool - very poseable, packing both the Invisible Air and Excalibur (and you can even have them fit behind her shoulders, and use her hair and shoulder pads to secure them!) and generally well-balanced, though she comes with a stand if you need it.

And while it's not necessarily relevant to those who aren't interested in the version of Saber from my fic, she can even cross her arms properly to do the Masterforce-esque 'Pretender!' sign!

Overall, she's great - though I might be a bit biased, as she's my favourite F/SN character - and a good example of what the Revoltechs can do.

Now I wonder if Kaiyodo will do other F/SN characters in the future - an Archer fig would be quite handy for my fic timeline, too...

I have never watched the series, but that is a nice looking figure. I like where the Revoltech line is going.

It's well worth checking out - and you may be surprised as to who her true identity is...

However, she may need help with assembling my other new model:

Nerroth, have you seen the Saber Alter revoltech coming out soon? I assume its an evil version of Saber from the series.

That's Black Saber - thankfully, she's not in the anime, but she is in one of the three story routes seen in the PC and PS2 game (the third route, called Heaven's Feel).

The anime, by the way, is mostly derived from the first story route (Fate) with a few elements from both Heaven's Feel and the second story route (Unlimited Blade Works).

While the model is impressive, I personally hate the idea of a corrupted Saber - possibly ironic, when you see the Decepticon decals on the e-hobby Robotmasters Dark Victory Saber set I own! (However, in their case, the switch in logo is explained as part of an undercover op on Earth - Star Saber and Victory Leo are still signed up to the good guys!)

I picked up Revoltech Saber Alter - who is Mordred in my fanfic - at Silver Snail Toronto today.

(Pics are available in this post)

She seems a little taller than Saber - and she's much harder to stand up without the use of the stand. (I had to pull out the joints going from the hip to the top of each leg and switch them around, too.)

She has two different faces - one with the mask (don't like that one) and neither has the ahoge...

The painted Exclaibur works well with Saber, too - but to be honest, I think that Caliburn looks a lot cooler.

In other words, she's a cool fig, but I like the regular Saber better.

(You always come up second best, eh Mordred?)

That said, I love how cool she looks alongside Fallen - a great counterpart to the Saber-Rodimus Prime team-up.

Gotta be honest, I thought this thread was about a Revoltech Star or Victory Saber.

Well, I do have Saber Alter posed with the Saber portion of the Robotmasters 'Dark' Star Saber in the thread I linked to above.

    For some reason.

She's from the ero-game turned anime Fate/Stay Night.

It's also a manga, a non-ero game on the PS2 (Réalta Nua), and has a related novel series (Fate/Zero, set ten years before F/SN itself) and so forth...

And there's a Fate-related PSP game coming out in Japan in September, called Fate/Tiger Colosseum.

It has Saber in a lionsuit.

If the original F/SN was a galge, this one will be a gao-gao-gao-ru-ge...

I was kinda hoping the Revoltech Saber could ride on Deluxe Arcee just like Revy does. Alas, it seems Saber's skirtpiece will prevent that.

    He does!

In terms of TF toys, there is another figure I want to see Saber posed alongside...

It's from a series of ridiculous F/SN comics I did. I shan't be linking to them here, but, ah, they shouldn't be too hard to find on Deviant...
