Hey y2version1, is it possible to get a comparison pic of both side by side, without using flash on the camera? I want to see what they look like without extra lighting, most pics I have seen have a lot of flash exposure. Just wondering.

Actually the last couple of comparison shots are flash-free. There are overhead pot lights that are illuminating the toys.

I've used the flash for the solo pics of him posing.

 

Is the red plastic the same color? He's looked different in previous shots, so I'm curious.

 

Yes, the red plastic is exactly the same on both figures. The different shades of blue create a different looking contrast so at first glance, the regular Prime looks like a darker red - but truth is that they're the exact same red.

 

I love that fig, but it would be 10,000 x better if they painted all of the chest windows like the regular voyager Prime. The absent blue and gold around the abs really hurts too...

 

Yeah - it's like they added something (silver) but took away something (the gold detailing, blue on windows) making it seem a bit half-assed.

What would've been better is if they kept the same colours of the original Voyager and added the silver and kept the rest of the details. Oh well..that's Hasbro for ya!

I think I'm actually gonna get this Prime instead of Leader Prime. This Prime just looks more kickass. And he costs less, too!  

 

Normal voyager looks cooler. The bottom of the torso being painted red and the more narrow chest windows make his torso look way too tall and not very movie accurate.

 

I'm kind of torn on which one I like most. Each is nice in its own way, but neither is worth owning two for!

 

Yes, exactly. The Leader one is way too kibble tastic and is less movie accurate even if the Transformation is quite a bit closer.

 

I'll get this mold as ultra magnus (if it happens). it's got that "hi I look like prime but I'm not him" feel to it.

I really don't see how prime with some kibbly bits from the fron of the truck is really that much less accurate than prime with the whole front of the truck on his back and smokestack rifles instead of the armcannon thing.

 

Thanks for posting these, I've been wondering what the big differences are between the two. Until now, I've been leaning towards the Robo Vision Prime, because of the silver paint. Now I think I like the regular version more. I'll probably make my final decision on June 2nd.

I wonder how long until someone mixes and matches the two versions and makes one with the best parts of both? Maybe I'll have to do that.

These aren't bad but I will be getting the Leader version due to scale, better paint apps, and way better transformation. Plus I saw comparrison pics with other autobots, and truck mode is just way too small for my taste. With Leader Prime at least all the Autobots are proper scale. I know it's bulky and all but these voyager versions give me a "Hi I am Prime Jr." vibe. :0
