    Saw this on Frank Welker's webpage. Wasn't sure if it was broken news yet.

    To those unaware, Burton was a voice actor in the G1 show, doing such voices as Shockwave, Spike, Brawn, Sunstreaker and Alpha Trion.

    ooh. an oldie is in.

    I wonder if we might hear other old G1 voice actors in the show. that'd be great.

    I would love for Frank Welker to come to my house as Megatron. I would not only surrender all my candy, but anything he wanted.

    EDIT: Gah, beaten! Hmmm... it appears he was also the voice of N. Gin. I IMMEDIATELY like him now.

    I alo got a kick out of him playing Sarq from Tron, in Kingdom Hearts II. He sounds just like Shockwave!

    OK so far we got Megatron as Optimus, Spike as Megatron, and That girl from that thing as that girl in this thing. :)

    Slightly off topic, but the first thing I noticed in that quote from Welker is no mention at all of him voicing a different character for the new movie. I thought it was pseudo "confirmed" that even though he didn't get the part of Megatron, he did manage to land another role.

    This is great news. He's a great talent and I"m glad to see him back in TFs. Now if the stories are good, and the animation isn't total crap, this could be really good.

    Maybe that is because he WAS Shockwave?

    In addition to Brainiac, Corey Burton filled in Christopher Lee's shoes to play Count Dooku in the clone Wars animated series for Cartoon Network.

    Corey is especially nice. I first started communicating w/ him via email... gee, it's been at least 10 years or more now. Had an opportunity to have dinner w/ him when I visited LA a few years back. He's just a super guy with lots of great stories about his work and the people he's worked with.
